That offensive rubbish is not representative of the majority of the
board. So I don’t see why people should be detered by it.
Any way, the board’s much cleaner now than it was late last year.We encounter all sorts of offensive beahviour in LIFE. I once had a boss who swore at me EVERY day in a very personal and demeaning way. I was adamant I would quit the job. But then I realised that if I could allow mwself to tollerate him, I would be able to handle any abuse later in life.
Once I accepted his abuse, he IMEADIATLEY stopped swearing at me and actually became very friendlly toward me.Our attitude/reaction/response to the way people act toward us indrectlly influences them. The more we resist, the greater the offense.
By being neutral to any abuse (as the target of the abuse), the ABUSER is also neutralised. Cause and effect , perpetrater/ victim……….the polarity loses it’s charge.
The way this happens is subtle, but it begins with us and our attitude toward the situation.I’m by no means claiming mastery of this approach, but I’ve experienced it work in my life as desribed in the example above.
Take these words of Zen master SOSAN from “Hsin Hsin Ming The Book Of Nothing” :
………
“do not search for truth, only cease to hold opinioinsdo not remain in the dualistic state,
avoid such persuits carefully
if there is a trace of this and that, the right and wrong,
the mind essence will be lost in confusion
although all dualities come from the one,
do be not attatched even to this one
when mind exists undisturbed in the way,
nothing in the world can offend
and when a thing can no longer affend,
it ceases to exist in the old way
when no discriminating thoughts arise,
the old mind ceases to exist
