Michael,
While doing the cosmic orbit, in the part called the merger of heaven and earth, when we begin by lifting our hands are we supposed to imagine chi flowing up from base of spine to back of neck and right after that when we’re moving hands down, do we imagine chi flowing down to the earth and when we begin lifting hands again are we supposed to imagine chi flowing up from base of spine to back of neck or are we supposed to imagine chi flowing up from the earth to the base of spine and then up to back of neck?
Also, one more thing, in mini orbit you said stopping at the hearth could be dangerous, well is it dangerous to do what you’re doing in the merger of heaven and earth where you temporarily stop at heart level after you move your hands over your head and are about to move them down?June 29, 2006 at 12:21 pm #14927>While doing the cosmic orbit, in the part called the merger of heaven and earth, when we begin by lifting our hands are we supposed to imagine chi flowing up from base of spine to back of neck and right after that when we’re moving hands down, do we imagine chi flowing down to the earth
yes. The hands are focusing on the outer pathway, your mind focuses on the inner pathway.

If you are speaking of the “micro” movement in the qigong form of Marriage of Heaven and Earth,
the chi flow spine to brain only. if you are speaking of the foetal position of the macro movment, after which you raise up your entire torso and hands, there is no change internally – the chi has been pulled around the head only, remains there as you lift up.>Also, one more thing, in mini orbit you said stopping at the hearth could be dangerous, well is it dangerous to do what you’re doing in the merger of heaven and earth where you temporarily stop at heart level after you move your hands over your head and are about to move them down?
It is not dangerous to stop at the heart in the qigong form. The danger is in the spinning pearl practice of the internal circulation of the orbit, Wudang method.
