I’ve cross-posted this article to my practice log.
For those that care, I’ll try to keep the practice
log updated during my “internal” spring break with
practice records and personal comments.Best wishes and love,
StevenPractice Log Update: An “Internal” Spring Break
March 3, 2007
Well, I haven’t recorded anything in my practice log in
a good, long while, and now is an appropriate time. The university is now starting their spring break.
Everyone is leaving or has left to go on some
week-long vacation, as the university is closed until
Monday March 12.I have intentionally decided to not go anywhere, and I’ve
been looking forward to it. I’m going on an “internal”
spring break.Rather than my typical routine of squeezing in 15 minutes
a day of qigong with an 1-1.5 hour stretch twice a week,
I’m going to take advantage of my free time and
practice as much as I can in my apartment during spring break.I intend to treat this as a mini-retreat, if you will.
Since today is the day of the lunar eclipse as mentioned
on the board, I find today and this week to be doubly
appropriate for doing this qigong-fest. 🙂My focus will be on the things I’ve been practicing since I
began back in late December, namely:1. Deep Healing Qigong Form
2. Qigong Fundamentals 1 Video and Audio
3. Inner Smile Meditation CD.I’m starting to feel ready to move on to the next level,
so probably before the week is out, or at the very least
by the week’s end, I’m planning on beginning
Qigong Fundamentals 2.Having added this entry, I decided to go back and
add “practice record” entries on several previous dates.
I had been writing them down on a piece of paper. On average, I DO do some form of qigong 4-5 times per week,
but I made myself a general rule for recordkeeping purposes
that if I spent less than 20 minutes on qigong on a particular
day, then I wouldn’t record it–mainly just a psychological
trick to myself to get me to practice more. For instance,
if I look at my record sheet, and notice that a couple of
days have gone by and there is no record, then it encourages
me to put my busy schedule aside for a little while, and
do a longer practice.Time to begin . . .
March 6, 2007 at 5:19 am #21498HI Steven, this is a witnessed intent you have put out and I will be checking in to your log and see how you deal with the joy and the resistance of it. If you want an e-mail buddy along the way for this intensive let me know and I will forward mine. I have been in an intensive for a while now and always enjoy the company. barry
