How consciousness affects reality

Hello all,

I subscribe to a magazine called “Light of Consciousness”.
It’s a magazine that contains articles across all
religious traditions–a large chunk of them from
Hindu or Buddhist viewpoints, but not all of them are.

At any rate, one article in this magazine–which takes
a metaphysical perspective, I found rather interesting,
and thought I’d share an excerpt from that article.

It provides an insight/verification that consciousness
affects reality–and in fact, not only does it affect
reality, but it can access points outside of our
standard timeline. At any rate, enough talk . . .

Random event generators are electronic tosses of a coin.
Ordinarily they show fifty percent heads and fifty percent tails.
A group from Princeton found that people, whether sitting
right there or three thousand miles away, can influence the
outcome of these machines by thinking with a certain
intention. The effects are very tiny individually but
when you combine the results of hundreds of studies as they
have done, you find a huge statistical significance–the odds
in chance are about a trillion to one.

One of the really mind-boggling elements of some of these
intention studies are that they don’t occur in real time.
They actually work better when they are out of real time.
The people at Princeton and some other investigators have
shown this. Using a random event generator, they made a
tape recording. They made the tape on Tuesday and put a
copy in a vault. Another copy was given to a participant
who was told that the tape would have alternate clicks
in the left ear and the right ear and they were to affect
it with their intention to make more left clicks than
right clicks. Lo and behold, they found that after this
person had listened and made the intention, there were
more left clicks than right clicks on that tape. But
when they listened to the tape in the vault they found
that it was the same: there were more left clicks
than right clicks. Now, what was going on here?
What happened is that the person’s thoughts had gone
back down the timeline and affected the outcome
at the moment it was generated!
