I have a question for anyone with an opinion. How feasable do you think it really is to learn chu kung from recordings and books if you don’t have an actual personal instructor to work with in the area you live? I started studying with someone taught by Mantak Chia, but now live in an area devoid of teachers of the same system. I do have a very good chi kung instructor here but instruction in Healing Love is not included, it’s mostly a martial art. My experience with Healing Love practices throughout the last 12 years does not come close to measuring up to the advertised results and I’m wondering if this could be the problem. I know this knowledge was passed down for thousands of years in a society where most people were illiterate, so books can’t be the traditional way of doing things.
November 20, 2007 at 3:57 am #26191Hello Explorer
I have nealy the same problem. My teachers in the universal tao have changed to another system the one with David Shen. They still teach the healing love though. But part of my education in the future will be from bocks. I think there is a problem with this. I can’t say how much but I can tell you that each time I meet my teachers live I learn new stuff that I find important.
Should be interesting to know what you think your problem with healing love is also. I have been doing this exercises since the year 2000, but actually have been living as a celibat most of the time so it will be much interesting to see what hapens when meeting a girl!
November 21, 2007 at 12:18 am #26193not that this is a big deal..
but after going up through star alchemy…
lesser and greater kan and li take about 2 years to kick in
when they do, you will know it because the chi gets a sense of greater depth to it..
it’s really the dai mo i think it is called which opens up the opposite fire water poles between the chest and pelvis..
this opposite pole inside opposite pole creates a sexual dynamo between you and the opposite sex..
and creates deep relaxation and peace within yourself while on your own

November 21, 2007 at 1:14 pm #26197The combo of Dai, Du and Ren create the Bao Mai, this channel is not known by many and is the pathway you mention above. It also explains one path for post natal influences to infleunce prenatal.

November 22, 2007 at 3:05 am #26199I thought I wouldn’t be the only one to have thoughts like that about the books and recordings. Since starting to learn the Healing Love methods I have learned enough to benefit from them but it seems I hit a sort of glass ceiling where I can’t figure out how to learn the method any more effectively. When I got the new DVD set I was puzzled and disappointed to hear that pressing the “million dollar point” is a bad idea because in my experience it is the only way to separate orgasm and ejaculation. The “big draw” prevents ejaculation easily for someone with my skill level, but only because it also stops orgasm and other sexual feelings. I’d like to hear Mantak Chia’s latest thoughts on this. I wonder if perhaps not all men are capable of all of this due to physical anatomical differences – otherwise the male multiple orgasm would be much more common.
November 22, 2007 at 3:23 am #26201Hello Explorer
I thought it was this thing you haven’t reached. Non ejaculatory orgasm. I haven’t reached it either. Not bother so much about it though beacase I live in celibacy since started this practise and then it might get harder. I have had something that might be nonejaculatory orgasmes sometimes though. The exercises learned in Yudeloves books on closing the two front gates also makes some kind of orgasmic balls running up the spine that feels quite butiful.
I have heard that it is quite hard for a man starting this practises after 30 to achive this nonejaculatory orgasm.
If you want to read more there is a thread going on on tao bums about this subject right now.

November 22, 2007 at 5:36 pm #26203I’m not familiar with “tao bums”, is that another part of this website? Thanks for the info because obviously I could use all the advice I can get. I haven’t heard anything about starting after 30 being a problem, but I did start around the age of 25 or 26 and I am now 38.
November 22, 2007 at 5:46 pm #26205Yes I think the age 30 isn’t a definite number. I think it might be hard even when starting earlier. Perhaps this things are not so easy to achive.
The Tao bums:
In the
taoist discussion
You can look at the subjects:”Ejaculation control” and “Semen Kung, Chi Kung and Crown Center Orgasms”I think at least the first discussion is wery close or exactly about what you are looking for.
Haven’t read it all myself but parts of it.
If you have any comments on the discussion here please welcome

November 24, 2007 at 2:52 am #26207Curious which audio tapes you used – the weekend or the week long set?
I’ve found that many adepts get problems because they haven’t done enough energy channel work, so their ability to circulate it limited. If you practice the wudang orbit, you will find your skill in moving things at thejing level is much greater. If you never learned that practice, I would get the audio/dvd for Qigong Fundamentals 2 and see how that affects your progress. If you’ve already learned that, practice it more deeply.
Hope this helps.
MichaelNovember 25, 2007 at 12:31 pm #26209I got the 17 disc set “Healing Love Taoist Sexual Secrets”. I’ve been familiar with the microcosmic orbit for a long time and the energy channel work that’s done in Shing Yi Chuan, but this is the first I’ve heard of the wudang orbit. I’ll check out that Qigong Fundamentals 2 next if that would explain more. I’ve been looking for more effective instruction elsewhere but not finding it. Based on what I’ve seen so far it looks like Mantak Chia always makes this method sound far easier to learn than it actually is, which would naturally cause most people to give up too quickly to benefit from it because the results they’re getting are so different from what they were led to expect. My previous experience with the martial arts has given me more tenacity and more understanding of how long it takes to achieve things.
Thanks for the further suggestions!
November 25, 2007 at 2:16 pm #26211there are three positions when million dollar press is ok:
.morning wood
(one gets erection because new ching is generated, but cannot be circulated. press point then to enter stuck ching into micosmic orbit or other channels)
(if you can get erection without stuck ching. that is ok).exhaustion wood
(another example of stuck ching. accupressure to the taint to clear stagnation).50% sex
(generate some tension with (self or many-people-selves) sex. separate and press the point to clear stagnant ching. separate beds until man as strong as woman).no selfpleasuring
(there is no need. especially no visualizing. morning wood and monthly full moon are already a lot to handle)
(if you cannot handle the itch… well it will get stronger so it is a easy preparatory practise for the full moons, solar changes (esp. sept turn))psoas trainning, vertabrae/skull trainning, organs massage are supplementary practise
plus drinking water whenever dry mouth, also during the night
and keeping the tongue up always, as a man saidskilled practice is an energy channel development
described mahabandha practice is years long therapy initiation
where if you do not learn and integrate
you burn up or diedigesting all and digestive ability
ingesting starts feeding the latent, stagnant personal resistances
so pure honesty and integrity
the more one learns the more one absorbsit is true that healing sound and fusion and microcosimic orbit, all ‘non-sexual.practices’, are the ultimate and the only sexual practice
or one needs to develop the alternative on the way
it charges the wire, but not makes the wire
so there is the easy and the easy waysuch practise also developes resonance with homosexual
and is not prenatal practise for it is bound,
was made possible only by the magical creative act of ancestors
which demands changing the focusNovember 25, 2007 at 2:40 pm #26213Jernej wrote:

Not using the M.d.p at all.

November 25, 2007 at 8:25 pm #26215Mantak Chia has a reputation among the people I practice Shing Yi with as being an incompetent quack who doesn’t know hardly anything about chi kung but just knows how to get rich quick selling dangerously misleading books. This is not my opinion personally and I am the only person in the group who has actually studied with one of the Healing Dao instructors. However, I can understand why people would come to conclusions like that given the discrepancy between the results described in the books and the actual results most people can realistically expect. My personal experiences with Healing Love aren’t providing me with much basis for arguing against the opinions I’ve been hearing in that class at this point, but I’m persisting because instruction in this method is not really available elsewhere and I have learned enough to know the claims are not entirely bogus.
November 26, 2007 at 7:02 am #26217you are correct. it is not necessary in the beginning (there are other methods of channel development), and it is not necessary in the end (not any more)
