Hello,
So a new type of meditation was revealed to me recently. It’s simple, i just sit there chill and then basically say to myself that i remove myself from myself. At that point my awareness basically leaves my physical body and is mostly in my immediate energy field but can also easily expand elsewhere. It’s nice and silent in this type of meditation, but i think that what might be happening is that i’m giving energy to my subtle bodies at the cost of my physical body, as michael said he used to do. have any of y’all ever meditated like this, and what do you think the Taoist perspective on this type of meditation is?
Thanks
RyanJune 15, 2008 at 3:34 pm #28493In some extended Inner Smile sessions, there is a dissolving process
of dissolving your physical body and shifting into your energy body, so
there is nothing wrong with doing a shift . . .The only words of caution I’d suggest is that you don’t do it
with the point of view of casting judgement on your body, because then
you can create a body-spirit split. The advantage of the Inner Smile
technique is that you first accept the body, ground it, and use it
as a foundation for playing in the energy body. The potential problem
with saying “I remove myself from myself” is that if you say it with
the wrong perspective, you could create a negative judgement on the
body, and then by immediately leaving it could create a split. In short, I don’t think there is any problem playing with it for fun
from time to time–just make sure you spend time showing your body love and practicing integrating it with your spiritual side.S

Thanks
