Recently i have training with real ball i use basket-ball ball:). Its not serious training:) but i find it very interesting. Also its very cool for wring hands and with fantasy you can invent many exercises. After few minutes i felt miniorgasms in shoulder area especially in wing point (i dont know how you named point which placed on spine between shoulders) i felt like body moving in this place I felt destruction of blocks and its very good. After this exercise i find that my hands have more good coordination and connection with each other.
Also i remember film with Jet Lee “tai chi master” where he doing exercisec with great ball wich in film is more heavy and bigger than basket-ball ball:)
Fu Zhen Song was famous for practicing his dragon Bagua form with a 25 pound granite ball. Good training for core muscles and balance! Kettlebells also work well for this.
Actually, I think He did practice Taiji with it, but never taught any of his students how to use it. Apparently he used to throw it up in the air and bounce it off his body (the stone ball), its like the Harlem globetrotters of the taiji world.
