If Hillary Clinton wins the U.S. presidential election, it will be the first time in history that two U.S. Presidents have slept with
each other. If Donald Trump wins the U.S. Presidential election, it will be the first time in history that a billionaire moves into public housing
vacated by a black family.September 16, 2016 at 3:55 am #47222Note: Swami (Steve Bhaerman) is actually a very astute political analyst. I agree with his summary of our decaying society. This is why I personally am considering voting for Trump. Not because he is any better than Hillary, but because he is more likely to lead to a period of political chaos that is needed to finally precipitate change. Evolution Plays Its Trump Card
It’s Time To Go Sane!“America’s two political parties spent $4 billion on the last election and it worked — the American people were soundly defeated.”
— Swami BeyondanandaIf you’ve been reading my stuff over the past months and years, you’ve often heard me quote Bruce Lipton: Crisis precipitates evolution. Given the current political shituation, you don’t need a weatherman to see that chances of precipitation are 100%.
If you doubt there’s a political crisis in this country, consider our 240-year journey from Franklin, Jefferson and Washington — to Donald Trump.
Talk about reality checks bouncing.
Talk about the lifting of the veils.
As more and more ordinary Americans are willing and able to look behind the “irony curtain”, Donald Trump’s appeal becomes understandable. We have a sociopathic system, so why not have a REAL sociopath in charge?
And … If you doubt that Donald Trump is the luckiest man on earth, consider this. Of all the years to run for President and of all the opponents, Trump gets Hillary.
There was a time — in the distant past seemingly — when a candidate was subsumed by scandal (or health crisis) that could put the future of the party or the country in danger, that individual stepped aside. That was back when people really did have a higher view and mission than their own personal ambition. Progressive voters saw that trait in Bernie Sanders, which is why nearly 50% voted for him (a higher percentage than Republicans who voted for Trump) against a candidate who was a “shoo-in”.
It’s not just the email scandal, where Hillary was let off the hook but not exonerated. It’s the feeling that public and everything else be damned, Hillary is committed to just one campaign promise: Elect Hillary Clinton president.
Those who attribute Hillary’s dislikeability to the vast right wing conspiracy aren’t paying attention. Nearly half the voters in the Democratic Party rejected her neoliberal policies and expressed the same distrust of her personal ambitions, agenda, and history as the right-wingers. Don’t blame Bernie or his supporters for that. And now with the issue about Hillary’s health and the mainstream media’s stonewalling of any questions about it (e.g., the firing of Dr. Drew Pinsky after he publicly questioned her health), it almost doesn’t matter what Hillary says. The latest polls show that nearly half of Americans think she is lying about her illness.
Meanwhile on the conservative side, with no clear front-runner with a stash of political cache, voters resoundingly rejected neocon Jeb Bush and stealth neocon Marco Rubio. The “upwising” moved forward as voters on both sides of the red-blue divide said NO to the corporate state.
And so — unless there is a REAL October surprise — we are in for the most insane campaign yet in history:
Donald Trump — the “lone nut”
Hillary Clinton — perched atop a criminally insane corporate state
OK, if that’s what’s so … so what?
What does an awakening voter who sees deadly flaws in both candidates do?
What Would SANITY Do?
We’ve been hearing for years the contextual question, “What would Jesus do?” and even “What would Jefferson do?”
So I offer my own question for setting the context for 2016: What would sanity do?
Before discussing strategy, let’s consider the concept of “sanity”. As Bruce Lipton and I write in Spontaneous Evolution:
Being sane and being normal aren’t necessarily the same condition. Sanity is not a trait that can be tabulated by a show of hands. As psychologist and humanistic philosopher Erich Fromm reminds us, just because millions of people share the same vices doesn’t make these vices virtues. Sanity is derived from the Latin word sanus, which means “healthy.” By sharing a common root, the meaning of sanity and healthy are bound by a strong relationship. That which makes us healthier, makes us more sane. And vice versa.
In looking at our current political and economic system from this standpoint, we have a system of “institutionalized insanity” where society’s institutions are clearly at odds with our wellbeing. Consider:
We have a hugely expensive health care system that is unhealthy and uncaring, run primarily for the benefit of drug companies, insurance companies and HMOs.
We have a food and energy system that systematically destroys our soil, water and air.
We have a military industrial complex with a huge secret budget, and we are the primary exporter of weaponry to the world.
We have an educational system that seems more intent on crowd control and cover-your-ass political correctness than in cultivating innate genius or a true moral compass.
We have a political system designed to benefit a small percentage of the uncommonly wealthy rather than the commonwealth.
We have a casino economy where there are a few big, big winners and mostly losers.
We have a banking system … well, as the Swami says, “I’m nostalgic for the good old days … when PEOPLE robbed BANKS.”
Oh, and here in the “land of the free” we have 5% of the world’s population, but account for 25% of the world’s incarcerated.
So why is this important?
Because, ultimately no political revolution or evolution — partisan or transpartisan — can succeed without striking, echoing and amplifying the chord of common virtues and values that are the EXACT OPPOSITE of what our civilization is promoting through its priorities and policies.
So the first distinctions that “sanity” must recognize are two key principles of political science:
Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
The tried-and-true way to keep corrupt power in power is “divide and conquer”.
On our recent visit to the small town of Fairfield, Iowa, we experienced first-hand the political divide that keeps the body politic virtually paralyzed, with well-meaning Americans unable to act in accord. We met and spent time with three kinds of folks, all of whom we consider friends and “co-hearts”:
Tie-dyed-in-the-wool Bernie activists
Hillary supporters who simply didn’t understand why Bernie was peeing on her parade
Social conservatives who felt they had “no choice” but to vote for Trump
Each of these factions possessed an element of truth and clarity, and each felt extreme frustration, disheartenment and disempowerment. Each individual we spoke with would have looked at the markers of institutionalized insanity cited above and agreed that each of these conditions is unacceptable.
If that’s the case, how is it that we are stuck with the choice — or lack of choice — we have now? And … what is the evolutionary response to the clear and present crisis we face?
A New President, or a New Precedent?
I still remember what it felt like being in Washington, D.C. in November of 2008, a week or so after Obama was elected. It felt like the liberation of Paris, the fall of the Berlin Wall, with people just about dancing in the streets. But a lad, and a lack. It didn’t take long for the hopium to wear off, and as the Swami said not long afterward, “the empire has a new face, but the same big fat ass.”
Bottom line is the bottom line: The POTUS is the CEO of the American empire.
Even had Bernie been able to prevail in the primaries, he would have been up against the same entrenched system, and the same divided (and consequently, conquered) populace all adrenalized about “identity issues” while the identical issues we all face and largely agree upon (the ones cited above) go largely unaddressed.
As the Swami said in Swami for Precedent: A Seven-Step Plan to Heal the Body Politic and Cure Electile Dysfunction (see here) a dozen years ago, “If we the people choose a new PRECEDENT, a new President will follow.” Sadly and truly, this idea is even more relevant today than it was during the Bush era. Back in those days, anti-war progressives shouted, “Impeach Bush!”
During the Obama years, conservatives cried, “Impeach Obama!”
It should be obvious that left and right need to come front-and-center to impeach the entire corrupt, pay-to-play system. And while many voters are choosing to “vote their conscience” in 2016 and cast their ballot for Green Party candidate Jill Stein or Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson, neither of these third parties will ever be a first party in the United States. Why? Because despite having original and functional ideas, they are parties of ideology each identified with either the left or the right.
What we require now is a movement of We the People coming from “deep center” — not the muddled middle of a Michael Bloomberg seeking to preserve the status quo, but from a willingness to “face the music and dance together”. This requires a political, psychological and spiritual maturity the American people have not yet demonstrated, and yet must cultivate.
Evolution HAS played its Trump card.
We can no longer afford the dysfunction, and we can no longer hide behind safe ideological positions. Instead of polarizing around either/or, we must gather around both/and. As Bruce and I point out in Spontaneous Evolution, nature is progressive AND conservative. Survival and thrival require both growth and protection. Regardless of the outcome in November, awakening Americans from across the political spectrum must gather together in heartful, respectful conversation to cultivate and call forth our greatest intelligence. Instead of dueling dualities spending huge amounts of time, energy, money and resources to fight one another, these polarities of left and right must now become dynamic duo dance partners by considering together the functional aspects of both progressive and conservative:
How do we wish to progress?
What do we want to conserve?
Will we do it? Can we do it? They say necessity is the mother of invention, and considering what a “mother” our current political reality has become, we must necessarily evolve or risk losing the legacy our country’s founders (with all their flaws) called forth: Government of the people, by the people, for the people, where the government does our bidding, not the bidding of the highest bidder.
Only by graduating from being manipulated by one side or another, and by gathering together beyond the two parties and outside the boundaries of the mainstream media can we activate the true heart and soul of America, and for the first time in a long time, be a beacon to the world. If this sounds “utopian”, I refer you to the choice visionary philosopher R. Buckminster Fuller outlines in his book of the same title: Utopia or Oblivion.
Given THAT dualistic choice, may we choose wisely.
Author’s Note: In keeping with the “going sane” theme, I will continue to expand this idea on a weekly basis through and beyond election day. Your responses and feedback are welcomed

Change can occur in many different ways, and some roads are extremely painful, with a lot of personal misery and potential loss of life. Only those with a lot of personal wealth and power can usually weather such political chaos. Better to go with the devil you know, rather than someone unpredictable. Change can be effected in ways that don’t create misery for the masses.

September 17, 2016 at 12:17 pm #47226I consider Paul Craig Roberts to be a truth teller. And while I’m certainly not advocating for Trump, I think this shows how one could do so.

September 17, 2016 at 5:08 pm #47228Paul Robert’s assessment is the most ridiculous hyperbole I’ve ever heard in my life.
If you actually want a real model for what a Hillary Clinton presidency will look like, it will most likely look like the presidency of Bill Clinton from the 90s, since a lot of time they worked together. It was a centrist presidency with good prosperity, and the only big news during the time was the blowjob that Monica Lewinsky gave Bill. The amount of war engagement is likely to not be that much different, nor that much different from Barack Obama. In truth, a Hillary presidency will be like a Barack Obama term III . . . economy not soaring, but stock market continuing to rise upward and similar Middle-East engagement. Is Hillary a good candidate? Absolutely not. She’s not an ideal choice by a long-shot. But she is not terrible. Things will remain relatively even-keel until we get something better.
However, Trump has admitted he won’t take nuclear weapons off the table, and given the fact he has been known to fly into narcissistic fits of rage when someone says something he doesn’t like in a tweet, doesn’t make for a good combination. This is someone you don’t want as Commander-in-Chief of armed forces. This doesn’t even address his Adolf Hitler-esque war on Muslims akin to war on Jews. Or his ridiculous desire to build some fucking wall on the southern border. Nor does it even address the absolute decimation to the economy that will occur when he gives tax cuts to the rich, creating EVEN MORE monetary scarcity as money leaves the middle class to sit hoarded by the billionaire class. FYI: Billionaires don’t create jobs when they get more money; only the middle class does that through consumer spending that creates job need. Corporations only create jobs when forced via all the consumer spending, otherwise the money is hoarded. This is why the middle class is currently so broke, all of the Republican tax cuts that we’ve had. So this is really what you will get, aside from listening to him praise himself every two seconds.
So if you actually do want real WWIII and you want the economy decimated, vote for Trump; it’s not Hillary that will do this. Don’t forget Trumps’s likely appointment of Supreme Court Justices that will be anti-civil-liberty, i.e poke your nose into your personal life with fundamentalistic Christianity bullshit type people like the Mike Huckabee/Kim Davis ilk. Don’t believe me? Look at his VP pick. I mean Mike Pence the governor of Indiana who is the Vice-President pick was responsible for abstinence-only sex ed and shutting down Planned Parenthood clinics in his state (which mainly do STD testing and contraception, not abortion) and thus oversaw the biggest rise in HIV anywhere in the country. If you want HIV, go to Indiana. Pence’s regressive backward governance created that situation. And you want this asshole as VP, one step away from the Presidency? As if Trump weren’t bad enough. Ugh.
No thank you.
In total, I would rather have shards of broken glass shoved up my urethra than vote for Trump/Pence.

September 23, 2016 at 10:50 am #47232Note: here’s a post that offers a counter-view to Steven’s rosy views of Hillary. Just so we don’t fall into the popular media propsaganda trap….Mish Shedlock is a popular blogger who is NOT for Trump:
Most Dangerous Person On the Planet Today: Hillary Clinton
23 Sep 2016
On Monday, Hillary Clinton accused Donald Trump of giving aid and comfort to Islamic terrorists, and that terrorists use his rhetoric to recruit fighters.
On fighting terrorism, she chastised Trump I Know How to Do This.
Im the only candidate in this race whos been part of the hard decisions to take terrorists off the battlefield. I have sat at that table in the Situation Room, said Clinton.
Heres my counterclaim: Hillary Clinton not only sponsors terrorism, she is a terrorist.
I sent this as an Op-Ed to the New York Times. Rejected as expected.
Irony of the Year
The irony of the day, week, month and year is Hillarys statement I Know How to Do This.
Hillary supported Bushs inane war in Iraq.
Hillary supported Bushs inane war in Afghanistan.
Hillary was the mastermind of US failed strategy in Libya.
Hillary is the single person most responsible for Benghazi.
Hillary supports president Obamas drone policy.
There has never been a war Hillary did not support. The most surefire way to make a terrorist out of a non-terrorist is to kill an innocent child or bomb an innocent persons home. Doing so is sure to radicalize friends and family.
String of US Terrorism
There is nothing more un-American or unconstitutional than bombing other countries indiscriminately with no declaration of war, and with little or no regard to the lives of innocent victims.
Hillary Clinton supported those policies as Secretary of State. Hillary Clinton, like George Bush, like Dick Cheney, and like president Obama are all guilty of terrorism.
If you disagree, please put yourself in the shoes of a mother whose 4-year old daughter was accidentally killed by a US drone. Envision your neighbors house accidentally blown to smithereens by drones.
Is it not terrorism because its an accident? What practical difference does it make?
In the eyes of the families of innocent victims, no words better describe such actions than US terrorism. I guarantee that is precisely how you would feel if it was your son or daughter killed, or it was your house blown up.
On April 23, 2015 the New York Times reported Drone Strikes Reveal Uncomfortable Truth: U.S. Is Often Unsure About Who Will Die.
Mr. Obama and his top aides have repeatedly promised greater openness about the drone program but have never really delivered on it, said the Times, quoting Rachel Stohl, of the Stimson Center, a Washington research institute.
On October 20, 2015, the Huffington Post reported Nearly 90 Percent Of People Killed In Recent Drone Strikes Were Not The Target.
U.S. drone strikes have killed scores of civilians in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia, said the article, emphasis mine.
US Policy Radicalizes Terrorists
How many terrorists did the US radicalize in the process?
How many innocent civilians died? How much compensation did the US pay? Sorry, thats classified information.
Given US drone policy, its a wonder there has not been more terrorists incidents in the US. One surefire way to have more incidents in the US is to accept Obamas plan to take in 65,000 Syrian refugees.
Hillary Promises More of the Same
Hillarys refugee policies would ensure we would have more terrorist attacks in the US.
Globally, her statements prove she will continue the disastrous, counterproductive, and illegal policies of the Bush and Obama administration.
Logically speaking, Hillary Clinton is the biggest threat to world peace and the most dangerous person on the planet.
Thats what I will take with me to the election booth on November 8. What about you?
Mike Mish Shedlock
September 23, 2016 at 3:17 pm #47234Note: Bill Bonner (largest financial newsletter publisher in the world) writes from France, parsing the Hillary-Trump divide abroad:
A Different Candidate?
I would vote for Trump.
The remark last came from an unlikely source.
The French press treats Trump like a clown or a con artist. Until last night, we had not encountered a single Frenchman with a favorable view of the Republican candidate.
We usually sink in our chair when the conversation turns to U.S. politics.
Are you voting for Hillary? they ask, assuming the answer is surely yes.
No, we say.
Then we get a look of deep suspicion. You mean you are voting for Trump?
Not either, we reply.
Then we have some explaining to do.
I dont want to encourage them, we begin. The conversation generally goes downhill from there.
But last night, it was our companion who had some explaining to do not so much to us, but to our other open-mouthed guests:
Trump is a guy who has made a career in the real world. He knows something about how an economy actually works. Yes, of course, he appears vulgar and ignorant. But thats because he understands how the press actually works.
He has built a public persona to capture media attention. It was the only way an outsider like him could win the nomination. In private, he is a very different person. He is thoughtful and intelligent. At least, that is what I read.
Hillary is just like [French president] François Hollande and almost the entire political class of Europe. They are professionals at one thing only: getting in office and holding on to power.
They have no idea how the real world works. Theyve never had a job. Or a business. Or any real contact with the world most of us live in. So, they inevitably make a mess of whatever project they are involved in.
From one failed project to another one unfulfilled promise to another one one disaster to another.
Trump is different. He might actually succeed.

Another WorldPoliticians are different from the rest of us.
We have to create wealth (even if it is as humble as digging a ditch) to survive.
For most people, work is not a hobby. We are not dilettantes who can shuffle from one loss-making, flibbertigibbet enthusiasm to the next.
We have to do something that other people are willing to pay us for. We have to succeed to pay the bills. Failure is not an easy option. Our lives depend on it.
Politicians and their cronies live in another world.
What? QE didnt work, you say? What? The War on Drugs hasnt reduced drug use? The War on Poverty hasnt reduced poverty? The War on Terror has created MORE terrorists?
You dont say really?
Well, well just spend more (of your) money on them!
What? Our budget is half a trillion in the red?
Well just borrow more money; besides, it will stimulate the economy.
The Parasitocracy doesnt create wealth. Instead, it lives on the wealth of others. And lives well!
Federal Advantage
The Washington, DC, area now has the highest house prices in the nation.
USA Today puts it as the third richest city, after San Francisco and San Jose.
The median two-bedroom apartment in DC now rents for $3,100, according to MoneyWatch. Thats $500 a month more than in LA.
But inside the Beltway they can afford those rents. Federal employees earn 78% more than similar workers in the private sector. Breitbart:
According to a study of data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis, conducted by the Cato Institute, compensation for federal workers is 78% higher on average than compensation for private sector employees.
Federal civilian workers had an average wage of $84,153 in 2014, compared to an average in the private sector of $56,350, according to the Cato review.
The federal advantage in overall compensation (wages plus benefits) is even greater. Federal compensation averaged $119,934 in 2014, which was 78% higher than the private-sector average of $67,246.
In other words, taking is better paid than making. People who work for the feds earn more than those who add real wealth.
Party of War
But it is not the threat to his purse that draws another unlikely endorsement of the New York real estate developer.
Adam Walinsky, lifelong Democrat and former speechwriter for Robert Kennedy, tells us why he, too, is voting for Trump:
Todays Democrats have become the Party of War: a home for arms merchants, mercenaries, academic war planners, lobbyists for every foreign intervention, promoters of color revolutions, failed generals, exploiters of the natural resources of corrupt governments.
We have American military bases in 80 countries, and there are now American military personnel on the ground in about 130 countries, a remarkable achievement since there are only 192 recognized countries.
Generals and admirals announce our national policies. Theater commanders are our principal ambassadors. Our first answer to trouble or opposition of any kind seems always to be a military movement or action.
Walinsky believes Trump will take his foot off the gas slowing down the war machine:
Trump marks himself as a man of singular political courage, willing to defy the hysteria of the Washington war hawks, the establishment and the mainstream media who daily describe him as virtually anti-American for daring to voice ideas and opinions at variance with their one-note devotion to war.
Trump: shrewd businessman who will buck the Establishment?
Or jackass shyster without a clue or a prayer?
You decide!
Regards,
Bill Bonner
September 23, 2016 at 10:49 pm #47236just a side note from the astro world. One of the signatures of the time around this election is Neptune being transited by the south Node of the Moon. The South node is the more lunar end of the nodal axis, signifying the past, and all that implies. It is called the Dragons tail (and all that implies about need to or having to let go). Neptune is truth or illusion, spirit gate. On election night the Moon (the public mood) is moving to conjoin Neptune and the South node. This suggests to me a vote to really depart from the past and go with something new with more glamour and emotional appeal, a new spirit (shen). Neptune as lord of the sea is known for tidal waves of public feeling and could result in that kind of outcome, a massive vote for new. While the Burn was still in the mix some of his messages were in line with the new shen theme. If HC was forced to retire would he, or someone else, be able to step in – I don’t know the rules around that but it would fit. If not Bern it could well be DT takes the prize in a tidal move as the new guy with new shen. Astrologers normally expect truth/illusion and confusion themes around Neptune and while on the South node the negative manifestation due to the negative polarity of the tail, lunar end, prevails. So yes it could all get even worse and provoke a discussion about a new constitution and electoral system. British history lessons spanning hundreds of years about Parliament v Monarch relevant. Having a President as executive leader is not the model adopted elsewhere, where Parliament has the real power. President can be ceremonial head, the emperor with no or just clearly defined reserve executive power. Discussion on all such matters could ensue post debacle. Consolation is the rest of the world is also having this transit. Watch out for lord of the sea activation early November.
In terms of cultivation practice it is great time to birth new shen, let go old illusions. IMO.September 24, 2016 at 7:06 am #47238Nice strawman diversion. Did you learn that tactic from rideforever?
Did you even read my post?
Clearly you did not if you simply reply, “I gave a rosy view of Hillary”, when I did no such thing. I basically said she is mediocre at best, and then gave a stinging indictment of Donald’s Trump’s failings which you conveniently ignored . . . choosing instead to simply post two more articles from right-wing propagandists, as if that somehow refutes anything I said, when it in fact does nothing of the kind. But nice attempt at a strawman diversion, nonetheless.
Surely you can do better than that. 😉
I personally never wanted Hillary. I wanted Bernie Sanders, but he lost.
Actually both Jill Stein (Green Party) and Gary Johnson (Libertarian Party) [currently running] are miles ahead of both Hillary and Trump in terms of being quality candidates, but unfortunately their poll numbers are so low, that voting for either one will mathematically help Trump get elected in such a close race, so only a complete moron would vote for them even if they are better. Trump is a cancer that needs to be stopped at any cost.Saying you don’t like Hillary and you want to vote for Trump is like saying you don’t like spoiled milk, and so you’d rather drink battery acid.
As for the bit in your articles about Hillary being a war-monger, have you not been paying attention that Trump is even worse. He’s already talked about how he wants to build up our military power much larger than it already is, how he wants to go over to the middle east and “knock the hell out ’em”, and not take nuclear weapons off the table. Plus his racial profiling of Muslims will do nothing but infuriate the Middle East against the US and increase escalation of violence against us. So calling Hillary the most dangerous person on the planet is joke . . . unless you don’t consider Trump a human, which is a position I’d consider agreeing to. For Trump, sociopath is a better description.

Hillary has been tarnished from the very beginning of Bill Clinton’s political career by those who are violently opposed to her, hate her. What is true in the millions of things that have been said of her? I don’t know how much is true or false but I DO know that I have had the critical-of-Hillary version of the this story noted in this link on my computer for about a year. I was outraged when I first read it. Today I found this version. What if every tale told about Hillary is twisted around like this one? I think we’ve been had.
A president trump will do nothing to heal the schism between male & female, it may worsen it. Do you want him as a male role model? Do you want his children in positions of power? I don’t.September 24, 2016 at 9:19 pm #47242Well said.
Moreover, as to women’s issues, Trump has continuously spoken about women in a derogatory way, going so far as to imply that Megyn Kelly was on her period and that was the reason for her harsh questioning in the first debate. There is also the distinct possibility that he was physically/sexually abusive to his first wife Ivana Trump according to some reports of their original divorce proceedings (now conveniently sealed so we can’t see). It doesn’t include Trump’s VP pick, Mike Pence whose attack on women’s health by shutting down Planned Parenthood clinics in the state of Indiana. The Trump/Pence ticket is not a friend to women, by any means.
To be honest, I see the rise of the power of the feminine, all across the planet. We have Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany and defacto EU president. Just elected in the last year–albeit from the conservative party–are Theresa May, the prime minister of UK, and Beata Szydło, prime minister of Poland. Whether liberal or conservative, the people coming into power are WOMEN, not men. This is the real SEA CHANGE that Michael has missed. The Tao is tired of all these high-testosterone, chauvinistic men that promote the same old tired ways of thinking.

This is ultimately about a PEW survey of muslim attitudes towards violence worldwide. It makes Trump look more alarmist than racist. Contrary to my own previous stated beliefs based on my travel, the number of “radical” beliefs by Fundamentalist Muslims is in the hundreds of millions. Women and non-believers are the primary targets of their violent beliefs. – m
September 25, 2016 at 5:18 am #47246The Bujinkan (武神館) is an international martial arts organization based in Japan and headed by Masaaki Hatsumi. The combat system taught by this organization comprises nine separate ryūha, or schools, which are collectively referred to as Bujinkan Budō Taijutsu. The Bujinkan is most commonly associated with ninjutsu. However, Masaaki Hatsumi uses the term Budo (meaning martial way) as he says the ryūha are descended from historical samurai schools that teach samurai martial tactics and ninjutsu schools that teach ninja tactics.
