I would like to be part of a community. I would like to witness the diversity of responses to practicing the healing tao. I would like to understand the historical context, but more important have a place to share personal stories as they relate to your practice. I can learn a lot from others and have a lot to offer back just by being vulnerable.
My confusion with this site is that it was never made clear to me what its intention is. I would be interested to know why you come here and from Michael, what is the space you want to create? If this were clearer I would know whether I want to visit or not. baba

I come here for the same reasons as you: sharing with a friendly alchemical community. I’ve been hanging out here for 6 years, and it is usually pretty congenial.
Every so often things get strange for a month or so, usually in the spring when Danny gets a little hot, other times when RJ or Plato goes on a rant.
Just as seasons of physical change (spring, summer, fall, winter) temper our systems, so too can seasons of social change. I’m actually enjoying in som way the craziness on the board as it is forcing more personal time, without clear communication with the community.

I like the openness of this community in that free thought and exchange of ideas are welcome, together with its tendency to attract people who actually are serious meditators, but of all stripes and colours.
I’m glad that some of the more extreme aggressiveness has recently been pointed out as being the rather counter productive behavior it is.
I do hope you decide to take part; I find your input very interesting.Simon

The purpose is to bring together people who have an interest in the experience of Taoist practice and the infinite philosophical and metaphysical questions that arise around that.
In cyberspace it is difficult to regulate the quality of a discussion board without severely limiting participation. So I am with Simon V., I want to supprot open and free thought and am willing to accept a wide range of quality as the price for that freedom.
A lot of people come to the Healing Tao because it is willing to integrate sexuality and spirituality. So its necessary to have openness about it. But it also means some people merely vent them selves here rather than explore or ask about transforming those issues. or they are lonely, or need to see to themselves published. A delicate line that is hard tp draw.
If you post at a high level of seriousness, you will ultimately attract the same. It may require ignoring or tolerating some posters that you may feel are not responding at the same level that you are sharing at.
I welcome your sharing here. The vibration also travels beyond this board in mysterious ways.
Michael
