I think your posting on Plato of Yesteryear had plenty of good points in it.
But I deleted it due to obscenity.
If you care to repost it with some editing or use of F******* in it I will accept it.I’d like to develop a culture on this board where we don’t have to use graphic swear words to emphasize a point or impress people with the intensity of their sexual feeling.
In this case you were just quoting someone else as a historical observation,
but nevertheless it lowers the vibration to “i’m stuck at this level of teenage consciousness”.The standard will be applied to all posts.
thanks,
MichaelApril 25, 2005 at 12:01 pm #4903Hello Michael,
I appreciate your request to have a clean board, and keep a particular energy. And I recognize the need to keep the same standard on all posts to keep it possible. I remember some time ago you invited whoever wanted to post obscenity to do so on the TaoBums website, but not here. And I remember Sean clarifying that TaoBums also was not open for every energy, and also there only some posts were permitted. I think all this is good and fine, as there are plenty of different people on the net, and the requirement from one group of people clearly will be different from those of another.
In this spirit I wish to point out, that me, and 5 other long time users of this board have started another board. An unmoderated one, where all posts and posters will be permitted to post. In fact we also have a policy to give a sub directory for taoists who need it, and a wiki to cristalize the content of our discussion.
It could be the requested gloveless ring where any punch is permitted. Probably not for all, just by its own nature, but where everybody can post.
Over there you will meet back Ron Jeremy, me, Plato, Max, Harry Pain and Trip. We still might post on other boards (that is, when we are not being banished 🙂 ), but that is meant to be our home. As well as the home of any other practitioner who wishes to join us.
I personally wish MBanu were to post there too, as I miss his knowledge in chinese medicine, and Taoist classical texts. But please, let me expand the invitation to everybody else. Yes, also to you Michael, and to Sean. In fact I am quite sure Plato, Max, and Harry would be really happy to have a discussion with you on the fundamental nature of reality (or similar, it’s all over my head in any case). And what better place to finally nail them than their own chosen home?
The address? Well, that’s easy: TaoBum.com

Cyberspace is huge, infinite, and I wish everyone to find the freedom they seek to express themselves in a community.
And I suspect that where everything is allowed, obscentiy included, then eventually that will lose its charge and something more useful will emerge.
Good luck on your journey.
