I just lost track of all my thoughts, its all your fault.
To me, the yin resting phase of alchemy is still dynamic, and doesn’t have anything to do with following the breath or letting go of thoughts. It’s about experiencing the qualities of energy that are in process, being more “deeply in process”. This also implies that there is an awareness…[Read more]

Glad I helped you smile.
But if this life is great fun, why not–while having fun–do things
that increase the likelihood of the fun to continue after physical
death? Can’t hurt, and possibly creates the continuance of more fun.
And there is no reason that such actions have to decrease the
fun being had in the present moment. In fact, I…[Read more] -

We are not finished quite yet.
But assuming you live from this free and joyful space, why not
do other things that may cause more aspects connected with you
to continue along with you after physical death. W

Hello Steven:
Before thoughts, before emotions, there is a subtle awareness
and living aspect of us that is core immortal and does not depend on
thoughts and emotions for its existence–nor are such things
necessary. But that doesn’t mean we have to throw the baby
out with the bathwater; it doesn’t mean we can’t have our
cake and eat it…[Read more] -

Hi Steven:
Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.
The heart of my question was if one believes the Ling is of a prenatal condition, as a skeleton of your current self, what influence does that have to a person now, to view life in this way?
If one thinks parts of their current life will scatter and dissolve into the cosmos and mix with…[Read more]

Hi Steven:
Very nice explanation, very logical, very consistent.
Two questions:
There appears to be certain judgments about life before and after human form, do they alter or influence our current life?
I asked if there were sources for the theory, only to know if I was missing something.
Does the Ling change with alchemy?Hope…[Read more]

Hi Steven:
Nice reply.
Can you share your source for the meaning of Ling? Another one is almost the opposite, Shen is our essential nature/yuan shen, Ling is a more dense energy formation in our current form to hold the shen, the vessel to allow the Shen to stay here, the two are inseparable in human form. It is the yin/yang aspect of…[Read more]

No, I’m not. I’m referring to the fact that “understanding your true nature” is not a panacea to all problems.

Since I have never said that it is was and certainly did not in my post, you are talking about something different.Regarding your book reference, that is one person’s interpretation

Hello Steven:
I am not sure why you mention it because it does not address anything I said, it has no relevance to my post.
This is, of course, true provided you don’t buy into the Buddhist philosophy that all
is illusion and delusion, which I don’t.

I don’t think I agree with this fully. “Understanding your true nature” is not the
solution to every problem.

Not sure why you make this comment, it can indicate lack of it.Through a lot of work, I think I understand my true nature pretty well, but I still recognize an incompatibility between who I am and “my role in…[Read more]

May I add a viewpoint. By understanding our true nature, Yuan shen, we can be freed from the shame/ugly dynamic and the denial/acceptance dynamic. Hopefully we evolve to where we can experience life in a natural way and enjoy natural aspects of life as they are, not adding commentary and societal influence. We have an innate intelligence that…[Read more]

bagua replied to the topic Different qi types — do you have the same thoughts? in the forum Practice 14 years, 11 months ago
Hi Louis:
There is a range of balance, whether it be temperature or level of Qi on the body. If one has too much heat in the du or on the back its probably from an internal imbalance or too much qi in that area, its not a signal of balance in general, unless one is doing something consciously to bring more yang there.
Being Yin can mean alot…[Read more]

Hi Dog:
The admissions department should know exactly the courses should be, I would talk with them directly, all the schools desire more students, they should treat you like aking.
Each state is different in requirements.
Good luck.

Hi Steven:
The point is that you can do spiritual practices, say qigong and meditation, without knowing much academic Chinese medical knowledge. And moreover such a lack does not impede spiritual awakening, or spiritual progression.

On the other hand, all of this information is

Hi Steven:
Chinese medicine is a big topic and has many levels and interactions, its my experience Qi Gong practitioners study a narrow view which has its pros and cons.

do you mean the Yang pairs, such as Small…[Read more] -

Hi Steven:
Another way to look at it is each of the 12-primary channels has a Yin and Yang pair, both regulate the body, including heat. Yang organs are yang/heat and are used quite often to regulate the pairs, but the Yin is critical in the balance of the two. Its interesting the channel most often used for regulating heat is the Large…[Read more]

Welcome back.
you said “n general, it’s harder to regulate heat than it
is to regulate cold. There are four meridians in
the body, not just two, to regulate heat.”what four channels are those?
