IMHO on the issue of ‘No mind’ meditation vs. Energy work, I think Plato is correct in the beginning and in the end. On squaire A, day one, you really ought to work on a smooth clear mind. By squaire’s XYZ you should be running smooth and clear, no techniques or trying. Who can really argue accumulating virtue is bad?
I just think that in…[Read more]

If I had to be brain washed tomorrow and could only pick out two spiritual practices. One would be Namaste, the concept bowing to the divine in the people I meet.
The second would be counting my breaths within meditation and throughout the day.
What am I saying, I’m brainwashed now and don’t do those two practices enough.…[Read more]

Philosophy hits you in the head and usually (for me anyway) bounces off. Stories like this hit closer to the gut. No lesson, no moral but a glimpse at where I should be aiming.
Thank you and the others for sharing.

I really Huckabees. Though I’m not sure the parallels are between Winn vs Plato are accurrate. I don’t think Plato would want to be in the amoral/Nihilist camp.
The whole VS. thing gets ridiculous. Mostly there is no real conflict. It seems to me they are arguing over which order to do things. Work on deep no mind stuff first, then let the…[Read more]

When you get high enough, does everything revolve around you? Is it that the ghosts and entities are banding about us and within us all the time and we don’t notice them?
Are their lives so boring that they need us. Can they only be seen by true believers and then they’re everywhere? Projections from another dimension or from a bored mind…[Read more]

When I was there last year there was a student who was camping out on the grounds. Email them, I think they’ll allow it.

It pretty much sums up my thinking too. This ‘stuff’ is a language. Its a way of seeing and relating to the inner and outer world.
As you internalize it you can move in whatever direction you want. I’ve always considered Taoism to be the epitamy of toleration.

I’ve always been interested in Sun gazing. I’ve read about it years ago in one of Daniel Reids books, one of his methods was having your eye circle around the sun, not looking directly at it. Chia had you face the sun, close your eyes and feel the different suns colors circulate through your body.

In Chicago the sun (& moon) rise over Lake Michigan. There is usually a small crowd by my local beach to see the red autumn full moon rise over the lake.
