Controversial point: I don’t think anything is inherently healthy or unhealthy. Each substance has energetic properties. If those properties are what is needed, then the substance is ‘healthy’, ie good for you. Meat, coffee, coke, water, etc. doesn’t matter; if it’s what you need, it’s good for you.

Unless there is a serious medical condition, ginseng is usually not given to men below the age of 40; no need to tonify when there is an abundance. From your description, it sounds like you have plenty of kidney yang energy, and are aware of it.

Wendy, re: HCl/Water, fresh lemon juice can be much more effective than straight hcl in establishing proper acidity for your stomach and digestive tract. I’ve heard 9 parts water to 1 part fresh lemon juice is considered the best ratio–I put 1/4 lemon in a 12 oz. glass of water, which seems about right.
