I used to practice for hours every day too and got huge impact but it was very up and down and when i didn’t have that meditation feeling i’d know. It was like feel perfect / feel less than perfect up and down.
Now i just do iron shirt for about 5-10 mins, enough to do 6 packings and 1-2 times of MCO of 20 mins each and while i’m driving to…[Read more]

zoose replied to the topic How Yoga Can Wreck Your Body (NYT article) in the forum Practice 12 years, 10 months ago
I think the main problem is stupidity not yoga. People need to think for themselves. Don’t push their bodies too far. If you pack too hard in iron shirt you could injure yourself too.
I think yoga is pretty good, i stretch every day and have done a couple of the breathing exercises which are like energizer/breathing kinda stuff. They’re easy to…[Read more]

Steven i’m wanted to ask you for a while… but if it would deviate your efforts on your retreat to answer me i would be quiet happy to wait until you returned to hear your answer…
From what i remember you are a university lecturer. This would mean lots of reading, marking of assignments and exams. How can you possibly do this in wu wei?…[Read more]

zoose replied to the topic Article on Hermit Retreats in the forum General 12 years, 12 months ago
Very cool article and i agree these retreats are very profound. But it is easier on family life if you can just have a steady meditation reigiem every day, eat supportive food and not drink alcohol/smoke. Easier on your body too… but it is soooo hard!!!
Can’t wait for my next retreat to kickstart another slow n steady daily increment reigiem.…[Read more]

Let me know how you go in a couple of weeks i will be interested to hear. Also there are some pressure points beside your nose just press in at the sore spot either side of your nose about midway down your nose (on your cheeks) and hold it for a minute or so. Do this a few times a day especially after meditation and you will feel it start to…[Read more]

My nose is/was always blocked too. 15 years or so i had the problem. It’s connected to my stomach / large intestine i can actually feel it now. When i relax this area within 5 minutes my nose clears up. It literally is that quick. It has taken me years to work this out though. As you practice you will find the tension within yourself which causes…[Read more]

zoose replied to the topic desire regulation in healing love in the forum Practice 13 years, 7 months ago
Mmmm this is like the walk-in-the-middle type thing. Don’t have too big desire but don’t have too small desire. BUT…. this is something i get confused with….
We seek to be in the middle, that balance, but when we get there we feel bored – everything is too easy. We know if we were smart we would just stay there but we don’t – or i don’t at…[Read more]

Thanks for your input steven. You seem one of the only ones on here really with a good HEALING TAO learning, official or otherwise who contributes to this forum to just about anybody on their own merit. You even spend time in your own hermit times away to advise folk on here of your thoughts, you really are to be commended. You truely are an asset…[Read more]

Of course moderation is the best….it is the safe answer always.
But i hear that chinese medicine doesn’t think raw food is very good. Maybe this is because the chinese have been civilized for such a long time? They say eating grains is good but maybe because people in civilizations need to eat grains or the land cannot support the…[Read more]

But if your stomach has enough “guts” in it then i think it could handle raw food just fine. If it’s weak then best to stick with cooked food untill it gets stronger. Nothing wrong with cooking cooked forever but i think there is something about raw food that makes me personally feel great after.
Like i’ve eaten steaks raw straight from the…[Read more]

I think Iron shirt 1 is the best and most important part of my practice apart from smiling. It’s easy to do during the day when i’m driving to/from work or as a proper standing practice. Just makes you feel good and better. When i had it working very well i felt like my body was just a tool. I placed it in the best way and used it as an anchor to…[Read more]

I’ve had cards read for me twice, 1 year apart, by my brother. Each time everything has happened as he said. The first time it was true but in a way that i never expected or thought of. The second time i knew what he was going to say before he even said it. It was obvious in my own mind what was going to happen and the cards just proved my own…[Read more]

Next time i go to the library i will check out the book and get the name of it for you. The book wasn’t written very well and it didn’t have specific details on how to perform the technique, but it can give you an understanding of the technique, why it is used, and how difficult it is to apply it and why it NEEDS to be applied for illness…[Read more]

Yes definately. Things wax and wane. You need to concentrate on the medium level of your experiences.
