Dear Forum users,
I am currently re-doing my website, shifting from perl script to wordpress. This will take several more months. I will have a new webmaster.This means this current custom-scripted forum cannot be supported. I’m investigating new forum models, and currently am attracted to one called DISCOURSE. See link below.
I plan to migrate the archives as well, they are huge, and will probably have to hire asian IT to do that. Not sure how it will integrate with new forum software (Discourse), it may just be a searchable database.
Take a look at Discourse and let me know what you think. Or if you have a better idea. In any case, I am committed to ongoing support for this forum.

There are many option now for forum services but discourse.org looks solid enough, with many basic features that are more tune with current forum technology.
Hard to beat “Free, Open and Simple”
The only other one I can think of is Beehive Forum, but it looks like Discourse is updating on a daily bases and is very much alive at the moment. Yup Discourse looks excellent.
