I might as well put the link up now, even though is still in progress:
http://www.tao-alchemist-qigong-vancouver.com/index.html
Any suggestions are welcome.

November 6, 2009 at 10:04 am #32518nice feel. The address is a bit long by American standards. It seems cool for alchemy dorks, but might not translate for all. But hanging with alchemy dorks might not be so bad. ๐
November 6, 2009 at 10:21 am #32520Yeah, it is a bit long, but the idea is that people who search by subject will find it more easily (once I register with google), instead of putting a more esoteric title that a beginner would not know about.
November 6, 2009 at 8:33 pm #32522I found it on a GIF site somewhere, so anyone can use it…everyone should have a rotating Xian Tian bagua!!!
Rotating Baguas for all!!!
November 6, 2009 at 9:04 pm #32524Wow I see what you mean about suffering from too much but it certainly isn’t as cramped as Michael’s whose site makes my head hurt.
What is missing for me right away is your picture. You are in the Chinese ones but there is no focal point of a person to relate too, who these words are rising from and somehow it is the look in the eyes that settles the Yi of a searcher and if it is a good fit the look back will resonate.
Otherwise I love the colors and organization. And of course the rotating bagua…tell me what to do master….hypnotizing….barry
November 7, 2009 at 1:22 am #32526I agree with Stalker. Cool bagua pic. S
November 7, 2009 at 1:38 am #32528Cool.
I’ve now added your website as a link on mine under “Healing Tao Instructors”.
Yes it is somewhat busy and technical, but then again you love
detailed Daoist philosophy and the page is a reflection of who you are.
There’s nothing wrong with that. Page should mirror who you are.
Plus it’s not necessary bad. MW’s page is extremely cluttered, hard to follow,
and loaded with even more info than what you have, and he doesn’t have
any trouble attracting people. People who love diving into a mystery
right away will be more attracted by the “too much information” case
than a simple beginner-oriented approach like I’m presenting. In other words, you can’t really say one approach is better than another!
It’s good to have diversity amongst websites; variety keeps things interesting.
Where’s the vista on the top of your page from?
Also, one last comment:
I think you have an inconsistency under the lineage portion.
You say that Mantak Chia was trained by One Cloud at age 96.
Is this accurate? On Michael’s site, Michael says that he DIED at 96.Best,
StevenNovember 7, 2009 at 1:57 am #32530Hey Steven,
The vista is from changbei shan, I thought it was fitting because of the origin of our practice. I really I meant to say that Mantak Chia trained with One Cloud until age 96..thanks for pointing that out, I’ll change it. All that stuff was more or less meant as an outline, and will refine it and add in more info soon.
Thanks!

November 7, 2009 at 1:59 am #32532Barry!
Good to hear from you again! Thanks for the suggestion, I will add one in, and see how it feels. Put it on the front page for now, and maybe move it later.
November 7, 2009 at 2:21 am #32534>>>The vista is from changbei shan, I thought
>>>it was fitting because of the origin of our practice.Awesome.
>>>I really I meant to say that Mantak Chia trained
>>>with One Cloud until age 96Really? He trained with him right up to his death?
On Chia’s website, it says that he trained with him
for about 5 years, after being introduced as a student
youth in Hong Kong. So does that mean that Chia met
One Cloud when he was already 91?Do you know the scoop?
S
November 7, 2009 at 2:44 am #32536Actually I kind of assumed that he trained with him at the later part of One Cloud’s life, because of the knowledge that he left at age 96, Mantak must have somehow been in touch with him until that time. I could be wrong about that one. Do you think I should change it?
November 7, 2009 at 3:08 am #32538Well it’s also possible that he got his formal
training earlier and then maintained some form of
social connection afterward, since apparently One Cloud
gave Mantak the go ahead to teach and heal and also
encouraged him to study western anatomy.I wonder if we could get this information.
We know Mantak Chia was born in 1944.
Mantak met One Cloud as a student in Hong Kong.
This happened before his early twenties I think but after
he attempted to locate training as a youth in Daoist temples.
Thus I’d guess he was trained sometime around 1957-1962.
On that note, I think it would be a simple matter to
ask Mantak himself how old he was when he met One Cloud,
which would determine precisely his 5-year period of
training. Moreover, if we know that One Cloud died at
the age of 96, someone must know what year it was that
he died. Then, by comparing it to the 5-year period
Chia was training, we could figure out how old
One Cloud was when he trained Chia.Do you care to investigate?
I’m starting to get curious myself . . .Steven
November 7, 2009 at 3:31 am #32540I made up a table trying to summarize the data
we have so far. I put it up on a “hidden” page
on my website for convenience in viewing, but
it’s not connected right now to the rest of the
webpage because it’s just something I threw
together in the rough and raw a few minutes ago.Maybe you can get more info. ๐
(and/or anyone else that has additional historical
date information to firm things up)S
November 8, 2009 at 12:34 am #32542Good idea to try and get the details on this, I like the info table you set up. It would be interesting to know. I will write michael when I get the chance, maybe he would know how to find out.
