Back from Getting Stoned in Scotland (Callanish Circle)

I am back from getting Stoned. Stone circles, that is, both in Stonehenge and a new site, Callanish in Scotland.

Link to aerial shot of Callanish is below – its the second largest stone circle in England, 400 feet long. Only the stone of Stoneheng are larger.

But a very different feeling, as it is arranged like a celtic cross – a circle at the center of the cross. But with two rows of stones to the north, like a woman with her legs spread, to capture the rebirthing planetary chi coming in from the north pole.

What is the purpose of the stone technology? I think a combination of “geomantic /earth acupuncture” and “alignment to sun-moon cycles of time”, the very theme of the Greater Kan & Li retreat that preceded my visit to Scotland. A very powerful retreat, prepared me to go deep inside Callanish.

What is inside a bunch of old stones, standing cold on a barren hill on a remote island in northern Scotland?

It focuses a beautiful heart energy. That was my experience – much more heart centered than Stonehenge, although our ceremony there this time was enveloped in a much softer energy than in previous year’s ceremonies.

But Callanish is holding some deep heart space, the meeting of the four sacred directions in the central fifth circle.

And I thnk it all relates to great discussion below between alexander and nnoonth. A remnant from a past civiliztion – 5000 years ago – staring us in the face, anf asking, where is your heart taking you, taking planet earth?
