Umm, YEAh!
it sure is great to decapitate!
Matthew 5 >>
King James Bible:” 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
Luke 6 >>
King James Bible:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Galatians 5 >>
King James Bible:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Matthew 19 >>
King James Bible:13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
Yeah! Lets start a great new democracy with a fresh, brutal decapitation!
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
BLESS THEM THAT DESPITEFULLY USE YOU
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
LOVE

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s attempt to close a chapter in Saddam Hussein’s repressive quarter-century in power, by hanging two of his henchmen Monday, further enraged Sunnis when the former leader’s half brother was decapitated on the gallows.

Barzan Ibrahim’s stout body plunged through the trap door and its head was snapped off by the jerk of the thick beige rope at the end of his fall toward the execution chamber floor 18 feet below.
A government video of the execution screened for reporters showed Ibrahim’s body passing the camera in a blur, after the decapitation. His body came to rest on its chest, with the head a few meters (yards) away, still covered in the black hood that was put there by one of his five masked executioners only moments before.
January 17, 2007 at 4:09 pm #20492Hey digdug, as far as I know… Iraq is mostly Muslim. They were prosecuted by Iraqis, the judges were Iraqis, the government is Iraqi which was voted in by the Iraqi people. Although Muslim do believe that Jesus came from a virgin birth and a Muslim himself, I don’t believe they hold the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God. Not sure what your point is quoting the Bible… Maybe you should look into the Koran for verses to condemn Iraqi justice.
Otherwise, the guy is lucky they used a rope that was too long rather than too short. Decapitation is preferable to strangulation.

– Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities
– he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted
– if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing
– He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoerIf you still care, read Matthew 22 15-22. It was written specifically for your type of selective scripture picking.
– Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words.
– But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me?”I’m still not sure what Christianity has to do with the Iraqi legal system. But Jesus already covered people trying to twist the Word of God to their own purposes. There is nothing evil or wrong with following a legal system. In Christianity, the legal system and the religious system are not one in the same. This is not the case with the Muslim religion: the legal system and the religious system are intertwined. So I repeat… you should really reference the Koran if you want to condemn the decapitation caused by botched hanging that happened in Iraq.
So what’s your next bumper sticker phrase?

Period. End of Discussion. Love your Enemey. The one LAW IS LOVE.
January 19, 2007 at 4:41 pm #20504You can not take Jesus’ words about relationships between individuals and apply them to the relationship between an individual and the state. Romans 13 is very clear – the state “does not bear the sword for nothing”.
As a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, I am in no way in discord with Christian belief.
Cherry pick if you want, but it is ingenuous and ignorant.
