A women posted the following symptoms on a different qigong discussion board. I am wondering if anyone has any insights into what is taking place:
During the last few weeks my qigong exercises have been followed by prolonged periods of semi intense chills. For instance yesterday by the end of the small universe meditation I was covered in goosebumps and felt chilled to the bone. I checked with the rest of my family who seemed to be quite comfortable in our 70* home. I, unable to shake it I ended up wearing a down filled parka around. This lasted for about 8 hours, until I went to bed.
I have been practicing meditation for six years now and have experienced similar chilling episodes on numerous occasions, therefore I know it is not specific only to Qigong.
All the cold chi trapped in the bones during your life time is released through meditation. You have to sit through it and it’s a very good thing. Eventually it will stop.
She should consider seeing a doctor of oriental medicine. Could be some simple thing (such as blood deficiency) that, if caught early, is no big deal. Herbs, etc.
