Hello everyone.
What is the oppinion of Taoist practicioners about the books of Deng Ming-Dao ?
Where can I find them (except Amazon :D) ?Emanuel
Major booksellers, like Barnes & Noble, Borders books and music carry his books. You can buy from harper & Collins website also. I have never read “chronicles of Tao”.
Like most authors some connect with his writing style and others don’t.I recently bought his new published book “The living I Ching” (April 2006) which I found to be a very fresh approach and could be insightful to Taoist cultivators very well designed and has a nice section called “voice of the Oracle”; Retails at 21.95 you can probaly get it for less and is 405 pages long, a book that will go a long way.
“Is it a book detailed for oracle consultation/reading”…not really but was not intended to be that; his vision was to write a book that relates to the Living Dao lifestyle, gibes mini creative writing visualizations with each Gua(Diagram).
A very well designed book, you can tell that alot of time effort and presentation was put into it. His books are easy reads and have a easy poetic presentation.
As far as I ching text I would recommend it if you have books like Total I Ching by Stephen Karcher, follows the same spirit of utilization.

Thanks for the information, I appreciate it. I do not think the guy is a bullshitter 🙂 Anyways, the Shaolin Instructor of my friend said that it was this book that inspired him to begin shaolin practice. Now he is an instructor, and helps teenagers find a way in life.
I read the first part of the book, but I recently found out that it is not complete. I really enjoy the book. Hope to find it somewhere.I istudied with his teacher. Kwan Sai Hung. As long as you realize the novels are fiction, not his life story,
you can enjoy them as a good kung-fu read spiced up with Taoist ideas. But Kwan was born in NYC, raised in USA, and is half german.Always important to distinguish the sizzle from the steak.
