Hello
Last weak it happened an interesting thing during my iron shirt practise. I feel that it have given me much more energy and a clearer thinking, helping my burned out condition.
The practise was a standing pose with the palm on the head. I did also do a hair breathing exercise. I started to feel something happen a bit painful at the point at the top of the head. It was quite strong and it felt important. Unfortunately I have forget the exact feeling at the moment. It have given me much more energy to perform my master thesis work and to be able to continuing working over a longer time during the day. It has also given me more time to practise, beacase I feel that I have been more efective in my work. It also helps against my need for cofe. This weak I have used some cofe but also the hot milk with garlic drink and te, a more free approach.
I have had the feeling that the iron shirt should help me with my illness, but I thougth it should have to do more with grounding and perhaps with hui yin and not the top of the head. But perhaps with a lack of yang enegy the top of the head point is crucial.
In the period before this happening I was wery tired and had problems with sleeping. I did try a sleeping pill. It was peahaps stronger than what I had wanted to try when I asked my doctor for it. I did sleep with it. After a while I couldn´t wake up until 12 oclock in the midle of the day and even slept until two e.m. So I got a wery veired sleeping rythm. I also noticed that my kidneys didn´t like the pill, and I didn´t got enough saliva in my mouth. I also noticed a feeling of creaziness, not alot but anyway. I didn´t want to continue with it and stoped. But after this I was also better. I could sleep early at the night and wake up and was not all to tired. So it was already an improvement. Perhaps beacase I have had a period of alot sleeping. This is something that always helps me. Perhaps also beacase the medicin is working on the nervous system, and it is probably involved in my illness and this quite rude treatment cased some changes. Not long after I stoped using the sleeping pill the crown chakra opening did happen.
I have felt much more ballanced and have had more easy to find good ways of living and practising. Earlier I practised the 8 brocades at 3 p.m, which always took time from my work. No I do it at 3 p.m. if it suites my work otherways I do it at 8 p.m after I have finished my work. Before I was wery tired this time at the evening and often prefered watching TV instead, or surfing. But now I have enjojed the practise at this time after completed the work.
I am not sertain about this change in my health, if it will last. But for the moment it feels like an important changes have taken place.
My treatments for the moment is:
Armour thyroid at a increasing level, until my body or body temperature tells it is enough.
Hydrocortisone at a low dosage which will be decreased soon succesively to zero. This is for helping the adrenals rest and for helping the thyroid work better.
Homeopathy at for streangthening the adrenals.
Homeopathy for my symtoms.
Herbs for steangthening yang and the adrenals, and adrenal cell extract wich I not have at home for the moment. (just realised)
Magnesium and selen for helping the hypothyroidism.
Planning to take out some amalgam from the teaths.
Practise: goal not always accomplished but often enough.
Taoist yoga with iron shirt (yudelove) at the morning for about half an hour.
8 brocades at the evening or at the night for a litle more than an hour.
Physical exercise, mostly weigth lifting and some poweryoga or similar. two times a weak. ( Or realy first weak ones second weak twice and third weak three times and then it starts all over again. )Swedich Dragon
November 21, 2008 at 10:36 pm #29639Probably still too early to tell, as energy goes up
and down naturally through time. As long as you are
practicing and keeping a positive attitude, I’d be
willing to bet that even with up and down movements, the
overall direction will be upward.Aside:
I know that English is not your language, but you may
want to fix this typo:week = time period of seven days
weak = low energy; not strong“Low energy” is not something you want to reinforce
subconsciously. 🙂Of course, when you say
“last `weak’ I used some coffee . . .”,
it’s strangely appropriate.Sorry, SD, I don’t mean to pick at you.
Everything good; all smiles.
Just an interesting typo considering your illness . . .Best wishes to you and your continued practice, and
looking forward to hearing more about your progress
in the future!Best,
StevenNovember 22, 2008 at 3:50 am #29641Hello Steven
Yes a bit early to say, but still it seems as an important change.
Spelling is not allways good in my own language either. I have to live with it! Someimes I see my students smile in a strange way, when I write on the white board, in my own language. One of the early things I tell my new students is that I have dyslexia, and I hope it works good anyway.

November 22, 2008 at 12:02 pm #29643Sorry! I was just wondering if you were subconsciously
trying to let yourself know something through the
“weak” typo. I wasn’t aware you had dyslexia.
I hope you took no offense.Dyslexia can be overcome, as I’ve been told by
friends who had it and tell me they don’t have it
anymore.. . . but in the meantime, don’t worry about it.
We can usually figure out what you mean.As to the change that you were referring to,
if it feels important to you, then that’s
important in itself. It can amplify intention
and accelerate change.Smiles to you,
StevenNovember 22, 2008 at 4:26 pm #29645Hello Steven
No problem at al! And thanks for your nice words!
Do you have any idea of why the dyslexia did change? Did they do any treatment or was it just by working with the letters and the language?

November 22, 2008 at 6:29 pm #29647Hi SD,
They sought help, but the help really just ended up
being “working with the letters and the language”.It’s just like some people are bad at math and some
are good at math. The one’s who are “bad at math” are
people that just need more time to learn it (they don’t
learn it as fast), and they need multiple psychological
tricks to help them learn. If the person has enough
patience and perseverance, they can do anything. Here is a sidebar on that end: I knew someone who was *terrible*
at math. He would take a math class, spend several
hours daily on it, and then fail. He then had to retake
the class. It would take him a *minimum* of 3 times before
he was able to successfully move on to the next class.
Unfortunately, since he wanted to be an engineer, that
meant he had to get through calculus! I met him when he
was on his second attempt at Calculus 2 (when he had started
a couple years earlier, he was in a remedial Pre-algebra type
class). I kept thinking he should do something different
with his life, but he was determined to not let this beat him.Something wonderful then happened: he passed Calc 2 with a 3.0
on only his *second* try. He then went on to Calc 3, and passed
on his *first* try. After years of pain and misery, something
finally snapped in his brain and math started to make sense.
After years of taking math classes, and having his life consumed
by it, he felt strange when he finally completed his math requirement.
He decided he couldn’t stop! Believe it or not, he ended up
becoming a math major! Last I talked with him, he was starting
graduate school in math!OK, back to the topic of dyslexia . . .
The same can really be said of people with dyslexia,
as it is the same story, but with words and language.Spelling, grammar, letter reversal, or whatever big
problems a person is having, are all treated by having the
person spend more time working with the language.
Usually psychological tricks to get people to remember
and to be successful are used. What tricks? It depends on what works for you.
For spelling issues, you use tricks similar to the
examples I made up below:1. If you’re “weak”, then you’re not strong enough to have two “ee”‘s,
but if you have the whole “week”, then you have time for both of them.2. “coffee” has two f’s and two e’s because all that caffeine makes you stutter
3. You “hear” with your “ear”, but “here” is a place where I want “her” to be
(i.e. a pretty girl)I don’t know if you understand my examples, or what I’m trying to convey,
but there it is.OH! Here’s one I remember from middle school that sticks with me today:
Everyone “separates”, because they see “a rat” in the middle of the word.
Women scream “eeee” as they get “desperate”.[While I don’t have dyslexia, I used to always spell separate and desperate
wrong–not knowing if there should be an “e” or an “a” after the “p”–until I learned the little jingle above. Now I can spell them both correctly without the jingle.]Basically, you use whatever works for you.
Using pictures, colors, etc. in connection also can go a long way.
There are certain products–which I’m sure someone can find and buy
from doing a web search–that are claimed to be more effective than
the examples I came up with.Getting letters backward, or having grammar issues, all have their own
tricks–but the bottom line I guess is: “working with the language”
and having a desire to improve.Steven
November 23, 2008 at 9:08 am #29649Hello Steven
Yes your examples are perfectly clear to me! I had a classmate at the college that heard my problem and lend me a book on how to have better memory. The methods realy helped me alot, and my grades increased about one step in many subjects. I started to be able to learn more than 10 English words a day. Something that had been completely impossible before. I could spend two three hours to try to learn 10 words and the next day I remembered perhaps three, but not was able to speel them. After reading the book I had not much problem with them at all.
The techique was to use funny or weired pictures, wery strange things you allways remember.
one of my first pictures was on the word riot. I made a picture of carrots demonsrating on a square, they were realy violent to eachother. Carrot in Swedish is “Morot” and this helped me find the word riot.
There were also a way to learn numbers. Using consonants as numbers when making words and then funny pictures.
1 is t or D. t is quite equal to 1 (pictural)
2 is N (made of two “sticks”)
3 is M (three sticks)
4 is R In four you have an R
5 is L Latin number
6 is J Look the same
7 is K k Look the same if you use the horisontal line on seven.
8 is F f You do write handwriting f:s in old time that way
9 is P and b Look similar
0 is S or Z from ZeroYou can learn this by heart quite fast
Then when you have learnde them you can memorize a phone number with this techique
98157098 this is a phone number I just write down
pb f td L sz p f You have to make pictures words containg this
Beef tail soup fu”nny”Then some strange or funny pictures from this.
You see a beef swimming whith the help of its read giant tail in your soap and thats so funny so you laugh. You put this happening in the appartment at the peoples home who own the phone number.
I have done this techique in chemistry. wery much pictures in organical chemistry.
I have done it in law studies.I did work for a while with surveing and then when studying a lawss about properties I put one law in one area in my town and put all the new words theire. I remember I was able to repeat about 600 pages laws in about 3 minutes. Just see all the pictures on that place in my head.
Today while working as a teacher. I have a new class with 30 peoples. I have a paper with names and photos on them and I lear every name on the way to the job the first day. Piccing out some funny character in theire face, make a picture of theire name and the funny thing in theire face. When I have them to work or when they arrive at the morning I repeat the picture and theire name. Doing this the first week! “have time for two ee” and I know all nanes. Something I would have extreme difficulties with before.
that was just some examples from my life. The teqnique with pictures is extremly effective when you have got the hang of it. In the beginning you have some problems making good pictures, and to realy see them for your inner eye. If you not have been seeing them clearly then you will forgot them.
I did an improvement in the modell of learning numbers, I had a number for each collor, then I made the pictures with different collors. With collors it was easier to remember them and I not needed as many pictures as before.
I think every person with dyslexia learns alot of tricks to be able to mannage in school and in todays society. But one of the most important thing is to not be ashamed. When you not are ashamed then you not have a total blockage that ohterwise will occure and you learn nothing. When I was younger and we should write stories in my own language at school. I figured out a story to write. Then I put down the penn on the paper. Did write trhree words and come to one I new I could spell. I tried to change the sentence, but come into another word I could spell. At the end of that lesson I had perhaps three lines written. When I got it back was half of the words wrongly spelled. So it looked like there where more read ink on the paper than from my own black pensil.

November 23, 2008 at 9:54 am #29651Yeah, you definitely have the right idea, as I see
you’ve already come up with–or been introduced to–
some of these things already. It’s important to keep a positive outlook.
If you think you can’t do something, it reinforces that.I teach “Intermediate Algebra” to college students at my
university. Since most incoming “on-track” college
freshman should start in calculus, these students are quite
a bit behind. In fact, most of the course is really 8th
and 9th grade math. A lot of times when I’ll have them
work in groups during class time on some math problems
I’ll get some of them saying:“I’m so bad at math.”
“I’m never any good at this.”
“I can’t do math.” etc. Some of them repeat this several times a class session.
I try to get them to understand that as long as they
keep telling themselves that they can’t do math, then
that will always be the result. The mantra becomes
a subliminal form of programming. This goes right along with your comments about not being ashamed.
By the way, you have nothing to be ashamed about.
You are working on a Master’s degree in Physics, right?
How many people can do that? Not many.
Plus, in this forum post, you are communicating in another language!
Most of the people in the USA (myself included) can only
communicate in English!I think it’s important that we all have problems.
For one, I think it helps to reduce arrogance–knowing that
you have struggles helps create compassion for others
and their struggles. For two, it gives the person
something to work on and potentially overcome–i.e.
it is food for growth. My best to you,
StevenNovember 23, 2008 at 12:34 pm #29653Hello Steven
I was on my way to tell you a part of my story with how the dyslexia have interupted my studies and caused me to go different ways in my life, ways that I otherwaise not have done. Part of that story is how I come to find accupuncture and later gigong as a major interest in my life. Perhaps I tell you later.
Interestingly enough it stoped me from studing physics, which was my first choise after college. Many years later I started to study to a technical Surveyor. And now in my master thesis work I am working in the subject of Physical Geodesy. Before this I have studing and worked as a practical surveyor and that is also the subject I mostly teach today. One day at lunch at the school were I teach my colleagues sat with a person I recognised. It was my physics teacher from college. The thing was that he encourage me much at college much beacase I allways asked question that he had to tolk with hes teacher college about. I was much interested in relativity and quantum physics during those years. That he sat at that table was a symbol for me that now my life hade come to an end were the practical side of me and my physic interest had merged together. I was realy astonished by this lunch meeting.
My subject in the master thesis work is spherical harmonic analysis. It is related to a European project, the living planet project by ESA, european NASA. They have a satelite called GOCE that meassure gravity around the world. The gravity field will be about 100 times better known than before. But the americans also have similar projects.
Spherical harmonic analsysis is like fourier transform performed on a sphere.
Interestingly enough I have some new Ideas that might improve the calculations. I have invented a new variance covariance matrix for the GOCE data, ans also invented an iterative method that migth be better than the ones before. Unfortunately the one I works with at the university doesn´t realy like my ideas, beacase they are in an area of the subject that he not like.
So I am not a physics, but the subject is physics anyway!
All god to you 2
