Don Carlos – Special Request To Everyone
Adel, Steven, Michael:
If you would be so kind, how would you suggest that one begins with Iron Shirt, before receiving training?March 24, 2015 at 10:44 pm #44162>>>Adel, Steven, Michael:

A person can take the IS1 course without any background whatsoever, but familiarity with the material of Qigong Fundamentals 1-2 aka Tao Basics, i.e. Inner Smile, Six Healing Sounds, and Microcosmic Orbit can be supportive. Probably 3/4 of all students that I personally have had come to an IS1 course have had no background whatsoever, or maybe only the week-long retreat in QF1-4 that Michael offers the week immediately prior. So prior background is not terribly important.
If one wants to get some practice with standing prior to taking a formal course in IS1, a good start would be to get the QF4 DVD by Michael and learn the “3 Standing-in-stillness” postures. Despite the label QF4, there is no prerequisite for this DVD–one does not need to know QF1-3 for this. The “3 Standing-in-stillness” postures are part of Yiquan standing meditation, which is sort of a more beginner level standing practice. In fact, in the IS1 course, I actually begin with Yiquan . . . although I use a different set of postures than Michael does in QF4. I find the Yiquan standing postures to be a good entry point into IS1.
Qi,
StevenMarch 28, 2015 at 2:41 am #44164Thank you, Steven. One would be recalcitrant in omitting an expression of gratitudea token of appreciation, at leastfor your helpful responses, which demonstrate kindness.
Good sir, I pray of thee, mistake not mine matriculation, with merriment, to the HT University, with moribund madness! The joke is always on me; the really funny one…
Cosmically Calibrated to Certain Courses (seriously, I think that regular standing practice is exactly the thing for me. Gotta “effortlessly strive” with it before I knock it, right?),

I don’t necessarily expect a response, nor people to even necessarily read my posts.
In fact, on the latter note, I expect some folks suffer from alliteracy. 🙂 -
