I’ve made a tincture of Dragon bone (fossilized Hadrosaur – ~70 million years old), Oyster Shell, Jujube date, Bupleurum, Codonopsis, and Cinnamon. It’s based on one of Ron Teeguarden’s formulas and is a Shen, Chi, and Jing tonic, a bit more towards the Shen side of things. It is said to be good for calming the mind for deep meditation. I have not tried this exact version, so don’t have specific comments yet.
I am playing with the formula a bit; using a method of potentizing the ingredients following homeopathic (more specifically homeotherapeutic) and anthroposophic principles. Following this method, I made a version of the formula in pellet form. If there is interest, I can go into more detail on the principles involved. (I didn’t want to take up a bunch of space if there’s a lack of interest.) I’m in this business – I work with a company called Celletech. We manufacture homeotherapeutic remedies.
I would be happy to share the potentized version with a few people, asking that you share your experiences, if any, after trying the formula for awhile. The version I’ve made is a tonic form – low potency and effects accumulate with usage. If you are interested, drop me a note at (my first name dot my last name at gmail dot com). My name is Michael Leger.

I tinctured the formula for 2 months and decocted under the full moon into a clear bottle. I left the bottle outside to bathe in the light of the full moon and the sunrise the next morning.
I’ve been reading some of the principles of medicine practiced by the anthroposophical folks (yep, Rudolph Steiner). Reading M. Steiner directly can be hard going. Every time I have, I’ve been left confused but with a sense that there was something quite deep that he was pointing to.
One of the ideas he expressed was a particular method of potentizing. Briefly, potentizing is a method of acquiring the energetic signature of a substance – this may be akin to talismans in Daoism, don’t know yet – and then amplifying it. The energetic signature can also be perceived as the resonant structure of a substance. Once extracted, this structure is easily absorbed by living beings who resonate with it. And there’s the crux of the biscuit. If you and the substance do not have a resonant similarity, the potentized substance will do nothing for you.
Steiner discussed 4 potencies as being particularly valuable – 7x, 11x, 18x, and 30x. The four remedies are divided into 3 groups – a more physical grouping (Earth correlation imo), a nerve-oriented grouping (Heaven), and an in-between group (Humanity). This is my first experiment using this grouping, so I don’t yet have direct experience I can share. I’ve taken these four potencies and combined them into a single dragon bone formula. I’m experimenting with the formula now. It seems to have good rooting tendencies as well as mental ‘softening’ qualities. Nice combination.

August 1, 2007 at 10:58 pm #23245I hope you do not mide testing on this animal. Yuk Yuk.:)
August 1, 2007 at 11:15 pm #23247OK, testing on myself, taking the formula ~3x/day, I notice a deeper sense of space within myself and a nice calm rooted sensation. I am also taking the actual tincture once a day, so there’s probably some reinforcement happening there. I think there’s a good possibility that this formula will be a nice energetic supplement for inner work.
If you’re interested in being a guinea pig, please feel free to email me, Dog’s included. 😉
