I am in the process of establishing a website to offer various modalities which actively includes chi kung as I have been learning by doing.
I must come up with a domain name and before I overthink the possibilities I want to share a dream where a name came out of the blue.
The name is ‘Northstar’.
It may not be available but it sticks with me without a lot of baggage. Michael, wasn’t the cave I spent time in at Huashan the Pole Star cave and isn’t that the North Star?
I am wondering what associations it has for all of you practitioners. I haven’t consciously tapped that energy. (but when I think of my cave experiences there may be a lot rising from under the surface of things) Barry
February 20, 2007 at 2:50 pm #21257Whew…the unconscious is something else. Just surrender. I could not get anything about northstar and it seems polestar is a rich name for pubs, remembering their maritime heritage no doubt.
SO I typed in what was specific and personal… caveofthenorthstar…and I got it.
Specific because it evokes both mystery and power and personal because I am forever digesting the timeless education from the Cave of the Polestar on Mt. Huashan last year. I think such a name opens a portal for me nurturing whatever paths I choose to go down.
What do you think about it? Even without knowing exactly what is offered what does the name evoke in you? Barry

This one is too good to pass up.
This morning when I was meditating my attention was brought to the North Star and the Dipper and as some symbols and different energies revealed themselves and filled my field I started to perceive a clear blue-white light, very strong, coming from there. My mind immediately asked, “Is that the true color of the North Star’s actual energy or is it personal to me right now?” I felt it was original.
I love the name. The North Star is always thought of as the guiding light.

February 20, 2007 at 11:12 pm #21261B, The last thing I wrote was based on the first thing you wrote- I didn’t see the update until now.
Cave of the Polestar makes me think of bears and that’s an association with that area of the sky – the Great Bear.
I like the simpler “Northstar” better, myself.

February 24, 2007 at 2:15 pm #21263Barry, I just arrived home from Istanbul with a lot of impressions, this is the only posting I like to respond to very shortly for this moment.
As I am clearly related to Vega as the yin star, I see the North star/Pole star, as the yang star, as my twin brother, the complementary gate way.
As the stars are our step stone to Ultimate Love. When we learn to vibrate with them we are getting closer, very close.
I recently told to a very dear Tao friend that I saw him rising to the North star on an Unicorn, meaning that he was ready to face its energy…
So you seem you have opened yourself to its power and will be able to create and hold a passage for its vibrations, somehow
welcome my star brother!

Names are vibrationally important. You might consider numerological analysis as well. Things in syllables or sets of three see to be potent. I think shorter names will stick more easily in peoples minds, so no need to include “of” and “the” in your domain.
You might try “PoleStarCave” or “NorthStarCave” or “PurplePoleStar” or in combo with Tao or Enlightenment or Love or Meditation or Qigong or whatever it is you are offering on the new site. My two cents. Happy to see you putting yourself out there, you have a lot to offer. The cheapest domains seem to be on GoDaddy.com
Blessings to whatever name you choose,
