anyone please reveal the secrets of foot massage inlucing how to loosen up the bones down there, thank you!
February 6, 2006 at 12:07 am #10250interesting question, especially since that is what I have been doing for the last months or so.
Very important to keep your arch stretched. Running your feet over “chinese balls” helps or even over a taiji ruler. Press quite hard. Any massage done by hand should always be done from heel to toe. (my good friend and kung fu master taught me that one). What works really good are those vibrators that you use for your back. I use them on top of the foot and below. I just don’t do it after qigong, always before so that I don’t disrupt the smooth qi flow that is produced after qigong. And a good chiropractor works wonders also. I have a missing hamstring so and a reconstructed acl in my knee. It has affected my whole leg and naturally my foot. Always pain. because of trying to balance things I have used my toes a little too much and had actually put them out of alignment. I have an awesome chiropractor who has helped with that. Best to have yours checked also if you have done a lot of martial arts or have old injuries. Also the neigong I have been doing lately, along with prayers and taiji ruler helps. I have heat waves running down that leg right now, intermittently. When I was frustrated with the pain I kind of yelled and spoke a little not too nicely to the universe. I didn’t mean to get too upset just that the whole situation that ththis started from is …. well, we won’t go there. Anyways since then the waves have become more and more frequent. All the way out the bubbling springs in the bottom of the foot. If anyone is helping me heal this then thanks a lot. If not, well thanks to the universe because it feels very nice for a change.Hope your foot massage works.

February 7, 2006 at 1:44 pm #10254different, the kung fu master who taught me is my tai chi brother and is also from China. Maybe the southern part of China so he starts and finishes the other way. Always finishes with pulling the toes.
Makes sense to me …. going up the leg pushes extra energy into the center, seems more sense to have the extra energy pushed or massaged out of your body. I have had Reiki done on my injure leg also. They did it the same way … toes last.
Whichever I guess.
February 12, 2006 at 7:32 pm #10256Several tips:
1) ankle rotations2) Foot roller-massager thing (pic below)
3) Do some things to massage the hands, also. Getting both ends activated runs energy between (through the whole body), and makes it way more effective towards flow & general healing.
