Here is a quote that is exactely what happens to me from one of mantak chia’s books:
“Healing Love also teaches practitioners how to balance the yin and yang aspects of their sexual energy. Many taoists became too yang and sought to disperse their excess yang in unhealthy ways such as through sexual excess, drugs & alcohol.”
It seems as soon as i start doing Iron shirt III or kan & li (even first level) for a week or so i get way too yang. I’ve tried eating lots of fruit & juice, doing more meditating while connecting to the earth etc which all help but i’m still left far too yang. Healing sounds definately help a lot but if i do 12 reps of each sound with arm movements it might keep me balanced for half a day or so but then i’ll have to do it again for the other half of the day. Takes about 30mins a time so after MCO and iron shirt I & III overall practice ends up taking a big chunk of my day. Living in wu wei and always being connected to the earth energy is the best i’ve found but i’m not good enough yet to do it every moment throughout the day and the yang starts to get in excess again.
Is there a method or technique i have missed in how to get large quantities of yin energy to balance my yang in the sexual practice somewhere? I would really like to continue with iron shirt III and kan and li because they are great but i need to be able to balance it out so i don’t get too yang or i end up feeling just like i’m about to explode.
March 10, 2011 at 6:47 am #36818Some conditions are very hard to transform all by yourself through practice and food. I am convinced that bodywork is a necessary component of transformation and healing.
I speak from my own experience of getting treatments to help me through blockages and giving treatments. I am both a HT teacher and therapist since 18 years. And the combination is making progress so much faster and deeper.
Energic overheating in the liver and heart is a ‘common’ condition in men, and needs to be guided with care.
Sorry I can not put my hands on you, but maybe you can find someone with enough skills in inner alchemy who can guide you through this difficult matter of excess energy.Wendy
March 10, 2011 at 7:49 am #36820Im not master and not teacher but im think that:
Kan and li practices is inner alchemy sexual practices and if you doing its right you must be balanced. So buy Michael Winn CD DVD courses of healing love:)) or inner alchemy for learn how to balance your Yin Yang.
Im want to buy and i will buy his inner alchemy courses.
But now im just practice healing love and after practice im feeling so balanced.. When im practice im more listen to my body and sometimes my body want to be more Yin sometimes more yang. And its interest thing that when im whant to be more Yin my mco circulate from back channel to front way, but when im want to be more yang my mco circulate from front channel to back, and its different orgasms. But im not read about this in any book, maybe its wrong, im just listen to myself and enjoying process.
And as for me very important to doing before practice massage of eggs or testicular breathing, its helps me very well. If im not doing massage my practice becoming bad.
But its just my expirience.Im think that you can transfer your yang in yin, mabe helps tai chi or mabe helps girl:))
March 10, 2011 at 10:01 pm #36822what bodywork do you do wendy? Chi nei jiang?
March 11, 2011 at 4:04 am #36824Through the years I developed my own ‘style’ of bodywork. But roughly it combines elements from chi nei tsang, shiatsu (although I never really push the points), cranio sacral, bone marrow regeneration, Feldenkrais and energywork that can focus on the energy centres and anywhere else on the body, in the energybody or beyond.
Mainly I listen to the body by putting my hands on it and help to restore the rhythm of the body and its natural energy. So I give the body ‘healthy’ feedback for it to go back to its basic natural state.
I never force nor command nor work invasive. I find some types of bodywork and even massages too invasive and while it can provoke deep release I do not believe the body really wants to be in that sort of pain.
It can be discussed that some people are stubborn and extremely holding on to patterns and thus deep work is the way to release. I also learned the deep release approach where clients scream in agony, crying their heart out and yell and kick like an animal.
I have been at both ends of that table, on it and doing it, so I know that place and its(psychologic)dynamic.I moved far away from that type of bodywork. The closest I get to causing pain in the body is in chi nei tsang but even there I try find a balance where the body can go with it instead of having to release in agony.
Just a matter of ‘believe’. Those who like to suffer will find their appropriate therapist;)I am a lover, so my approach is also coming from that place ๐
March 11, 2011 at 6:59 am #36826Beside other things I did maybe you know 4DIM ?
I was first a student and later on a (guest)teacher in the school of Dirk Oellibrandt. I was one of the early birds taking ‘shin tai’ that developed into his 4 DIM school later on.
I thought chakra therapy and healing tao in his school.March 22, 2011 at 2:08 am #36828Go for a walk.
Your liver will like that you are using your expansive energy.
In the meantime, you get to take in the sights, sounds, and enjoy
the present moment.
The repetitive contact with your feet against the earth, also
pumps up yin energy into you, to balance your yang.Or have sex ๐
and RELEASE.
Let your lover accept your release and transform it
through the heart and then return energy back to you
via the heart pathway in a softer form. This is the
real Healing Love in my opinion, not this semen retention
“in it for me” nonsense.S
March 22, 2011 at 3:42 am #36830I think that energy and sperm its two different things.
Mantek say that you can learn how to keep sperm in 6 months. But in some video he say that learn how keep your sexual energy you can spend more than one year.
Now im practice healing love more spontaneousley and im feel joy from proces. Every my next sex is different i dont know how i will practice before sex(im just know some rules which is based on my expirience), becouse so many things have an effect on your sex.
March 22, 2011 at 9:42 am #36832I understand all that.
I just have a completely different philosophy on the whole thing.
This is where I don’t agree with Healing Tao at all.But if you personally are enjoying your practice,
I’m happy for you. What’s good for you personally is
the only thing that matters . . .S
March 22, 2011 at 11:33 am #36834Its interest what philosophy you have.
Becouse im think that keeping of sperm its so disputable question. Its very individual.white tigress its example..
I think that you can lost many energy whith ejaculation or without.
My teacher of karate saying that there is not bad systems or bad teachers, there is
bad learners. He saying for me that if you will have sex with girls and you never ejaculate and you not meditaite after this 6 hours or not doing heavy physically job 8 hours, you go to impotence. Becouse its big enegrgy and you must know how to work with it. And also its very variable for your age
So in white tigress system is two ways:
one is ejaculate every third sex.and second its when you not ejaculate you must more meditaite.
March 22, 2011 at 11:43 am #36836Now im still looking for optimal practice…
March 22, 2011 at 11:31 pm #36838Since you asked, I’ll tell you about my opinion,
and what feels right to me . . . but again, it
is only what feels right to me, and I feel that if
something else works for someone else . . . then great.Personally, I know HOW to do semen retention practice.
I’ve learned it, and have been able to do it successfully
both in solo cultivation and in dual cultivation on
multiple occasions. However, while I *used to* practice it in some forms . . .
I no longer do it in ANY form.As for the physical aspect of releasing semen, I do
not feel it wise or natural to retain. Aside from
possible long-term risks with impotence which you
mentioned, I think it has the potential to create problems
with the prostate, and the prostate benefits from a
periodic release and flush. I consider it to be as natural
as urinating or defecating, and the human body was designed
to release. It was designed to do so, and it is what
the lifeforce and the human body considers to be natural.
Daoism is about coming into harmony with nature, and I
consider subverting the natural process to be,
by definition, *unnatural*, and hence anti-Daoist.An alternate idea that some have is to remove the sexual energy from
the semen, to keep that, but to still ejaculate. I respect
this idea, but I no longer feel this to be right for me either.
In particular, when I’m doing dual cultivation, i.e. having
sex, or should I say *making love*, I have no interest in
diverting even a fraction of my attention–even 1%–onto myself and
breathing up earth qi, drawing sexual energy into the orbit etc.
to retain sexual energy. I want 100% of my attention on my partner,
not 90%, not 99% . . . but 100%.In lovemaking, I want to give ALL of my attention to my partner,
100% of my attention directed toward making my partner feel as
much pleasure as possible, making my partner feel as much loved as
possible, and I want to give everything to my partner . . .
and that includes my semen. It is just one more gift of love
that I can give. When I do this, I do NOT lose energy through sex and my
ejaculation. In fact, my experience is quite the opposite.
My partner feels so much pleasure and love coming from me, that
the energy given to her through my ejaculation (as a gift from
me to her!) is taken up through her heart and multiplied many
many times, and I receive back from her MORE ENERGY in the
form of love through her heart. I do *not* feel drained after sex;
I feel quite the opposite. I feel completely loved and energized.
In fact, through such sex, even frequent sex . . . I feel like
I have MORE ENERGY, and in fact, I find my need for sleep
decreases drastically, almost cut in half. The extra energy
I have, ends up surprising both me and my partner. This is what feels right to me, and natural.
This is similar to the Tai Chi principle of instead of trying
to stop a force, you actually HELP it to do what it already
wants to do. You *go with the flow* as much as possible (literally),
and in so doing get an even better result. As a result, my partner feels happy and loved, and I do as well.
I get far more energy through the energetic response of my
partner than any semen retention I would do. Moreover, the
immense pleasure and love shared by both of us, I feel deepens
my spiritual connection more than any other clever Daoist
exercise I could do. This is what I feel is the true “Healing Love”:
feeling such joy, love, energy, and spiritual connection on
a heart and soul level that I feel divine healing and divine love.I do practice Healing Tao, but only the other practices, namely
the qigong designed to increase health and emotional stability,
and the meditations used to promote spiritual advancement. But as for me, and the practices associated with semen retention,
I have no use for them at all.But if someone else feels that the semen retention practices
benefit them, then I consider that to be their business
and am happy that they have found something that works for them.My best to you and to your practice.
The only optimal practice is the one that works the best for you,
not someone else’s clever approach. In my opinion.Best wishes,
StevenMarch 23, 2011 at 3:52 am #36840Yes love its so important.
Im practice with ejaculation and without, but now always with love.
Im not have problems with potency.
im understand that my problem was with balance of energy. Many energy its not always good, quality is so important. Im like more not ejaculate, but in this case i can give to my partner energy when im injaculate and this energy can be more than when im ejaculate and my girl crying after this orgasm. Before im think that good only one type of orgasm, but now im understand that injaculation its ejaculation of energy, not sperm, and its necessary for me and my partner. And as for me very important balance of what i give and what i receive. Becouse on my expirience only give its bad, only receive its bad too. Now im understand how controll how much give or receive. And im think that its very individual.
Thank you very much.
March 23, 2011 at 5:10 am #36842My experience:
The quality of love making is not necessary based on ‘ejaculation’ but the condition of one’s openness of heart and mind to the other.
I can be as deeply touched and crying (good sign Jimikir when she does ๐ when he is not coming or when he is coming, it is depending on the quality of his heart in the moment, the quality of his intention of ‘love’.Chris is 49 and it is important for him we feel that he is not coming every time. It keeps him more vibrant when he is not coming actually. But also the not coming can not be fear based driven! ‘Oh I will loose my mojo when I come’ ‘ she will take my energy and I will be empty’ when things like that happen or even are thought in the minds of the lovers, fear is consuming the spirit and thus it will drain regardless. This is based on ego not on ‘LOVE’.
The quality of his heart is ageless, refines with aging through life experience. Less ego driven like with most younger men, who are still on the battle field of life.
That is why it is so nice to hear younger men talk about ‘love making’ ~ make love no war ~ is what we need very hard. For alchemists (and for any human being) loveless sex is killing the spirits and thus is poison for our soul and thus for the planet and the universe.
You two men sound like sweet butterflies nibbling the waiting blossoms…. wonderful, keep loving like you do, regardless if you come or not, keep your open spirit and keep giving your partners, you will receive back multiplied!
Unaware women can not handle this sort of energy though, so keep in mind that you ‘teach’/help your lover with understanding the deeper dynamic of this, because it brings up deep unresolved emotional issues in women, so it might backfire when she is not practicing or not ‘wanting’ to connect with deep issues.
Love making is also deep healing so it needs deep commitment of both partners to deal with issues under the surface that will arise sooner or later.Success on your paths, it sounds wonderful what you are doing…. and hopeful for the future because we need lovers instead of warriors, badly.
Unfortunately the world is facing another attempt of the old destroying fire, so please, do not engage in any way with this energy of destruction, do not have any ‘opinion’ about pro or con war…. love as blissful as you can…Love to all
WendyMarch 23, 2011 at 1:53 pm #36844Personally I haven’t had in this respect any serious problems with the practices, but I am also looking forward how I would integrate essential practices from those which are offered by Healing Dao to those which I have learned from other resources or some which I have mastered at least to certain degree without any help from others, I mean now human helpers.
Steven’s advice to take a walk was very good for also how I understand these things.
But I have never been especially socially active and I am not interested about relationships and having family. So this is something very personal.
My personal problem probably has only been that I’m regarded to be somehow strange and maybe also at least to certain degree ‘dangerous.’
I also have very high regard for parkour type of practice and tracking, I mean in the sense hunters have been doin’ it when they are after spoors.
I must still admit that I have never seriously practiced for example Six Healing Sounds. It’s too simple for me, because I have had very much to do with singing and using voice during my early preparatory years (so singing both in choir and also receiving quite much personal teaching for artistic singing even in the style of Nicolo Vaccai etc.). So it also could be that I can much more easily do breathing exercises, which would for many others be not only unpleasant, but also dangerous.
In my case this very firmly points towards serious hermit type of orientation.
