I really have felt the energies of the solstice and equinoxes and my conclusion is that they are really auspicious times for inner work.
Lets talk about ideas of which particular form is most effective for these times.
Also it is my belief that sunrise and sunset are the periods when the energy is at its peak.

You’re right, they are. They are really auspicious times to not only collect qi, but to empower focused intentions for change as this qi is fresh and not pre-programmed.

With the autumnal equinox corresponding to the balance point between light and dark– on the cusp of dominating darkness–the optimal time to do an autumnal equinox ceremony is at sunset.

In my experience, the most optimal form for sunset is Big Dipper Qigong. The form is already attuned to that time, irrespective of the equinox. So doing Big Dipper Qigong on the autumnal equinox is the most potent of all.

However, if you don’t know this form, no worries. Realistically any qigong form that you might do will still be powerful on the equinox, and this is also true if you can’t do it at sunset. Generally the day preceding and the day after such times also have a good amount of this planetary potentization. An important aspect is to set some quiet time before and after you do the form, and to set a very clear and focused intention for what you wish to manifest. This way, when the unprogrammed qi gets collected, you can imprint a fresh pattern onto it, rather than let it assume some of the programming already present in your energy body.

    Qi,

To add to Steven, from what I understand the autumnal equinox is a good time for letting go of resistance, releasing attachments or stuck patterns.
