Explorer,
A lot of martial artists are impatient, and that can cause any subtle energy method to fail.
Sexual cultivation should be part of a progessive training, and opening up energy channels often isn’t enough either if your emotions are distorting or in other ways blocking flow in those channels. That is why I also make my Qigong Fundamentals 3/4 (for rooting) and fusion practice (for emotinal body) a strongly suggested pre-requisite before taking on serious sexual practice. But men are impatient with their emotions and have trouble grounding their mental body/head, and so all their sexual experience ends up being limited by these unconscious factors.
michaelNovember 26, 2007 at 10:54 pm #26223Michael,
That sounds like insightful input from you on this and makes this situation easier to understand. I have just ordered the Qigong fundamentals 1 and 2 that you suggested. There’s one thing I want to make sure I’ve explained clearly about my experience to see how common it is. I’ve had enough practice and training so I can easily prevent ejaculation by drawing energy up my spine at will. That ability has developed over the course of several years of making steady progress. The problem is this kind of progress has gotten me no closer to separating orgasm and ejaculation. It’s still a matter of just having both or neither at will. This is why I was so disappointed to hear your announcements in the new CDs that pressing the “million dollar point” is a bad idea. Now I need to know which is worse in your opinion, pressing it or ejaculating every time. Perhaps a vasectomy is another way to retain some energy without pressing it.
There are several experiences described in Mantak Chia’s books that are completely outside my experience: male multiple orgasms, mini orgasms, orgasms in other areas of the body besides the crotch, etc. How important is all of that?
Thanks again for clearing up that disagreement with other martial artists, now I’m more equipped to talk to them.
November 26, 2007 at 11:57 pm #26225I’m not sure a vasectomy would do much.
It doesn’t prevent ejaculation. After a vasectomy, you still ejaculate like normal
with the same amount of fluid as before and the ejaculate
has the exact same appearance. The only difference after a vasectomy is that on the
microscopic level there are no sperm cells in the fluid.Steven

Now that I really think about it, I don’t think you are correct at all when you say a lot of martial artists are impatient or that the practitioners of shing yi don’t understand what’s really involved in subtle energy methods. But it looks like you are suggesting certain things as prerequisites that they haven’t done so I’m hoping that if I keep going I can really achieve the results that are described by you and Mantak Chia.November 27, 2007 at 9:20 am #26229Steven,
I did know that already. But does that mean that the energy from the sperm is saved even if the energy from the semen is not? Another factor is the unreliable nature of the Daoist method as a form of contraception since it takes so many years to learn the method thoroughly.November 27, 2007 at 4:50 pm #26231Hello explorer
Sometimes wanting something to much is the biggest obstruction. This is against the wu wei principel. So you can do the practises without wanting a special result like an orgasm without ejaculation or other special results. Just be with wat is and enjoy it. The special things you are at might happen or they might not happen. It doesn’t matter. To be with what happen in the present moment and enjoy it feel it and be with it is what matter. The special things coming to you then is not goals it’s unexpected beatiful flowers to enjoy during your way.
One problem might be to have a book with the title “multi orgasmic man” this will surtainly create expections.
This is my aproach to this things.
This site might be something for you anyway:

November 27, 2007 at 10:51 pm #26233Actually I always thought the truly Daoist approach would be between two extremes, not being too goal-oriented but at the same time recognizing that goals and results do matter to some extent. ๐
“There is stick-to-it-iveness and there is getting entangled; stick-to-it-iveness is strength and entanglement is weakness. You must know the difference.”
– “The Book of Five Rings” by Musashi MiyamotoSince I mentioned martial artists who don’t think much of these Healing Dao methods a while back I should explain more about their opinions. I am studying the martial arts of Shing Yi and Ba Gua with an instructor who was taught by Kenny Gong. Kenny Gong was also one of Mantak Chia’s instructors for a very brief period, I think it was 6 months or something. Kenny is no longer alive but he was the original source of the opinion that Mantak just learned a little but didn’t stick around long enough to learn much, then went off and started cranking out tons of books that most people wouldn’t understand properly. Kenny Gong isn’t mentioned in most of those books because he told Mantak early on that he’d better not see his own name associated with them. I never met either one of them personally but I’ve seen the value of both systems from people taught by them.
Like I said, my own opinion is different from the people I train with so I’m just mentioning all this because I’m trying to understand a lot more than I currently do. Has anyone else here heard a different side of the story on this?
November 28, 2007 at 12:35 am #26235Hello
Ohh the tao with balance betwean yin and yang in all aspects! Thx.
My teachers in UT used to say that many in this fields are envious at Mantak Chia beacase of his abilities to making money from his knowledges. Today they might have changed theire oppinion a litle bit. Not saying so much good about Mantak Chia anymore.
For me personaly I like the books. If they not are good. Show me some better books before telling me Mantak Chias is crap!
Sincerely S D

That would be a touche I guess. You got a point there.
November 28, 2007 at 2:22 am #26239This is more directed at Explorer vs. you SD, but
using your post as a vehicle . . .Having met him at his summer course last summer
and talking with him personally, I can say one
thing for certain. He is a genuine man with a really big heart.
Yes he does devote a lot of time toward books, products,
and workshops, but that is because deep down it is
his biggest wish to see these techniques passed on to
as many people as possible for their benefit.Of course, everyone has to make a living out of what
they do. That’s a given. A person can’t fault him with
that.He might spend less time on personal development due
to his time spent putting out more and doing more workshops,
but this is because of where his heart is. His heart is
in helping others; he’s not just in it for himself–to
cultivate personally.S
November 28, 2007 at 2:32 am #26241I’m not sure that you would save that much energy from
retaining the sperm. I think most of the energy is
lost through the ejaculatory orgasmic response. The
microscopic sperm don’t play much role in the energy
expulsion in my opinion. However, if you are worried about conception, then a
vasectomy is an extremely effective way to take away
that problem. Risks are small, changes almost nothing
in the way of sexual operations, effectively the same ejaculate,
only real difference is possible pregnancy is reduced
to near zero. The main reason it fails as a preventative, is that it
takes about 3 months for the semen to completely clear
of sperm since not all of it is released in a single
ejaculation–and people start having unprotected sex
right away, i.e. before you are completely sterile.S

I have heard about how MC has one big thing in common with Bruce Lee, and that is they both made a lot of enemies by revealing things to the whole world that some people preferred to keep secret within the Chinese culture. And I have certainly not failed to notice that the people who don’t approve of the Healing Dao system are not attempting to teach the same things, so I don’t doubt what you are saying. My only criticism is that there is a massive discrepancy between how easy his system is to learn and how easy it actually is, and this has made me wonder if maybe he wasn’t teaching the whole thing either. It is important to share this with the world as only Mantak and Michael Winn are attempting to but you can’t accomplish that if most people quit because they are caused to doubt whether the methods being taught are complete enough to do them any good. I’m still here because of my abnormal amount of patience and experience with other systems but it’s most people’s reaction that needs to be prepared for. Am I making sense here?November 29, 2007 at 2:10 am #26245Steven,
