Michael Winn offered simplified version of iron shirt.
It is internal approach.
Forcing it can cause damage. So does external way. There is also external healing chi kung.
In such approach iron shirt beginning practice would be very simple:
1.put you palms on kidneys or one layer away from kidneys,
2.palm the kidneys: feed the kidneys with chi, project chi from hands into kidneys.(then various emotions, feelings, visions, refined intents can be added)
(then vent with kidney sound)Applications:
1.with skill in kidney sound, iron shirt 1 is reverse kidney sound
2.in heaven and earth chi kung, in small circilation project/guide chi from bubling well point to perrineun to kidneys, in end position hands palming the kindneys (feeding the kidney while palms covering the kidneys (touching or almost touching))
(only when hands will guide chi in noncantact way will forming a fist directly do it and then also internal Chia iron shirt will cause no physical tension)
3.sit, palm the kidneys, with (or without) small perineum press (like bean)January 21, 2005 at 6:46 am #2554January 21, 2005 at 6:48 am #2556Hi, I’m practising Zhan Zhuang standing practise which I think is good. Am I right that this is one of the methods of building up power for Hsing I?
I would be grateful if someone could refer me to some good links on :
I Chuan / yi Quan
Hung GarThanks,
TomJanuary 21, 2005 at 11:43 am #2558I didn’t have much luck getting good stuff on yiquan on the web. My favorite yiquan books are Everyday Chi Kung by Lam Kam Chuen, and Warriors of Stillness volume 2 (need to go to the warriorsofstillness.com .org(?) website to order it.
The big lesson I’ve learned is that you have to do it outside to pick up on all the energy going on out there and it’s preferable to do it barefoot if comfortable. I’m doing wuji standing outside while watching the sunrise per solarhealing.com protocol and then on and off through the day in the direct sunlight or starlight when possible.

if you seek to study hsing i, http://www.energyarts.com/ offers many practices for study that are relevant. They teach from internal perspective. If you seek more external approach to energy work, see glenn morris (has site) and masaaki hatsumi (has books and tai kai videos).
i find it exciting how external approach teaching and internal approach complement.however after naming them…
remember the daotaichi teachingsps: external is not objective matterialism
