“The inscriptions, written in ancient Aramaic, include “Jesus, son of Joseph;” “Maria,” possibly referring to the mother of Jesus; “Mariamne,” said to be the real name of Mary Magdalene; and “Judah, son of Jesus.”
Scientists at Lakehead University in Ontario, Canada, conducted genetic tests on microscopic bits of material found in the boxes said to belong to Jesus and Mariamne. ”http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/02/070226-jesus-tomb.html
March 1, 2007 at 5:52 am #21379The answer to Luna’s question is that ultimately all the major religions contain dogma that insult someone else’s beliefs and the whole issue of insulting the “ego” of other religionists is culturally determined, and not really a moral or a spiritual issue. So let’s not get too wrapped up in it.
More interesting is that I am really to blame for this whole Jesus tomb affair, even though the fundamentalist writer of the article didn’t know enough to attack me.
Simha Jacobovici, the filmmaker, got his start in filmmaking from me. He was a total unknow who came begging to me to help him get his start. I smuggled him and his film crew into Ethiopia and set him up against tight security odds to make his first film in 1983 on the Falasha, The Black Jews of Ethiopia. That won an award and got his career moving, leading to his current film on Jesus. To make a film in Ethopia at this time without the authorities finding out was quite a feat. having been thrown into prison twice in Ethiopia already, I knew too well that they don;t mess around there.
Yes, Simha is definitely a Zionist. Even though I made sure his film was not – I approved the script before I would help him. I was the only western person at the time who knew the ropes in Ethiopia, having run an underground of smuggling white jews into visit Black Jews – some 20 groups in all. Why me? Because I was goy.
The jews were from all religious and political stripes, Orthodox to Zionist to REform to Non-relgious humanists, and none of them trusted other jews. But as a non-jew, they trusted me. For me, it was strictly business, but also offered an interesting insigiht into the unfolding of the seeds of ancient history in modern times.
I later wrote a piece for the NYT Sunday Magazine (under assignment, and completely accepted by my editor) about what happened to the Black Jews once they arrived in Israel — high rates of suicide, alcoholism, rejection and racial discrimination by the Israelis, etc….. Unfortunately, the piece never ran, not because of religious/racism, but because some other free lance writer faked an initerview with Pol Pot inCambodia. It created sucha scandal for the NYT that they went through and killed every story in their inventory that was in hard to verify third world countries – like Ethiopia.
So the globe turns. And now Jesus is turning over in his grave, wherever that is.
Personally, for me the Talmudic version is probabl closer to the truth, although it doens’t go far enough. Jesus was trained in the temples in Egypt, and after faking his death with the help of the roman authorities (the head of the San Hedrin was a student of Jesus) he was smuggled out of the country, back to Egypt, where he lived in Luxor Temple for some decades. He sent his wife and kid off to south of France.
Doing what in Luxor? Practicing hgh level internal alchemy, bi-locating around the planet in an effort to liberate its energy body (the true ressurrection of humanity). Essentially similar to the Greater Kan & Li work, but bringing in the higher level solar and stellar forces. (Christ = Soul of the Sun). and failing because the cyclical timing was not quite right.
This is the next cycle, and success is assured. Are you doing your part?
If not, time to get cooking.
Who cares where Jesus is buried? There is no death force, only Life Force.

March 1, 2007 at 1:09 pm #21381Perhaps if Christians actually read their Bibles, noted various issues, focused on the principle “Love is the Law”, and left the santa clause stuff for the children..
A prophet king who tells you love is the law..
March 1, 2007 at 2:02 pm #21383If Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, then the Bible is only a book of moral stories. Might as well read Dr Phil in church.
And to say that Christians don’t get it is misleading. Scientists have told Christians that their religion is based on a lie and yet there have been no death threats or riots. Most Christians have either shrugged their shoulders or shaken their heads.
Do you even realize that you statement “Love is the Law” is as meaningless and insidious as “It’s for the children”?
