Sources of info: chi kung fundamentals 3 and 4 for chi breathing and bone breathing. The book Bone Marrow Nei Kung (Chia) has the detailed practices. Squeezing is called bone compression. The section is called Healthy Bones and is a health practice utilised for martial training. Coupling of alchemy is Kan and Li (fire and water interact via tan tien neutral earth, belly) and happens spontaneously when deeply grounded. The terminology can obscure the simple and natural. Practice is key. Even simple bone breathing is a big help. Starting can be to overcome some health issue such as couch potato foot weakness, computer neck, etc. The martial ideas have their correspondence in everyday psychic, energy, interactions – boundaries, protection etc. R

He may imply that this occurs. Tantric texts suggest the practitioner gets worldly enjoyment and liberation together as a package deal.
May 16, 2019 at 10:53 am #58741Is there anybody else who thinks duelling to death should be legalized?
HOWDY
A duel is an arranged engagement in combat between two people, with matched weapons, in accordance with agreed-upon rules. Duels in this form were chiefly practiced in early modern Europe with precedents in the medieval code of chivalry, and continued into the modern period (19th to early 20th centuries) especially among military officers.

The novel depicts a world where genetic selection for increased health, longevity, and intelligence has become so widespread that the unmodified ‘control naturals’ are a carefully managed and protected minority. Dueling and the carrying of arms are socially accepted ways of maintaining civility in public; a man can wear distinctive clothing to show his unwillingness to duel, but this results in an inferior social status. The world has become an economic utopia; the “economic dividend” is so high that work has become optional. The chief economic problem is in fact using up the economic surplus: many high-quality goods actually cost less than those of lower quality. Many people use lower-quality goods as status symbols. The government invests heavily in scientific research, but this has the side effect of further increasing productivity a decade or more later, so long-term projects with no expected economic return are favored above anything but medical research, on the theory that longer lifespans will consume more surplus.

My opinion is that the most important skills in this respect are observation/cognition, displacement and survival.
But it’s clearly Stephen K. Hayes who has been the real mystic in that lineage.

As a child, Pitera was a huge fan of the 1966 The Green Hornet television show and actor Bruce Lee; this began his lifelong interest in martial arts. Pitera was highly skilled in martial arts, having spent 27 months training assiduously in Tokyo, Japan, where he studied under the revered Hiroshi Masumi after winning an arduous kumite competition in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. He was trained to use the tonfa, nunchucks and katanas. While in Japan, he grew his hair down to his shoulders to adopt the Bruce Lee image.
