Please excuse if I ask a question that is indelicate here.
If a male is celibate, then is masturbation (without ejaculation) okay–or perhaps even good? Naturally this assumes it is for purposes of spiritual development.
A search appears to retrieve no previous posts with the word, “masturbation.” Is the subject inappropriate to discuss here?

studentApril 10, 2005 at 8:22 am #4215It probably doesn’t show up because that’s not how Ron Jeremy spells it. 🙂
Actually a virus wiped out the old site not all that long ago. The folks here who’ve done the healing love course will be able to offer a better perspective on it. It’s my understanding that raising and transforming sexual energy is an integral part of the practice in the Healing Tao. I’m not just quite there yet.

April 10, 2005 at 9:41 am #4217I am certain others will be more expressive about this. I have been celibate at times and used masturbation as my ‘dirty little secret’. When I discovered healing tao and the sexual practices, I dove in and used the practice of masturbation as a way to generate energy.
This brought me into a deep intestinal illness, mucho cramping for a month. I learned through this stumbling about that the attitude I had towards sex was filled with shadow voices about the spirit and the flesh that needed to be sorted out with gentler practices.
I began to invest my spiritual practice in circulation and inner nourishment of energy. I stopped relying on sexual energy to fuel my practice and turned towards nature, five element chi kung and breathing with my wife, with no erection at all, just cultivating myself as a container.
Inherent in your question is the belief that celibacy is devoid of sexual experiences.I know my celibacy was based on inner confusion and shame along with a sincere desire to be living in my higher self.
Now, I am scratching the surface of living in a sexual world of proper boundaries. Ironically, once I stopped going towards masturbation as my source of energy for spiritual practice, I felt more relaxed and able to be sexual.
(Just as a funny aside. I recently heard that Viagra can cause blindness. I wonder if it also makes hair grow on your hands too?)
It is a wonderful question and I am looking forward to others responses. Barry

April 10, 2005 at 9:17 pm #4221Ron,
Let’s hear your CURRENT answer to the question. As an expert witness.April 11, 2005 at 12:51 am #4223LOOK DA FINAL ANSWER WAS GIVEN BY MASTER CHIA IN HIS BOOK ON TAOIST SECRETS O LOVE: SOLO CULTIVVATION CAN BE DONE IN AN ORDERLY, SCIENTIFIC FASHION PROVVIDED ONE TRANSFORM DA CHING N PRACTICE MICCROCOSMIC.
IN TRUTH, WHEN ONE MASTER DA SEMMEN RETTENTION PHILLOSOPHY, ONE WIFE BE *NOT* ENNOUGH SO ONE OFTEN RESSORT TO SOLO CULTIVVATION AKA SPANKIN DA GORILLA *IN ADDITION* TO BANGIN DA WIFE. I SHOULD KNOW.
ITS ALL GOOD, ITS ALL DA STUFF LIGHT WAS MADE OF.
BYE NOW,

April 11, 2005 at 1:41 pm #4225Different traditions differ on the anser to your question. But the daoism taught by the people associated with this site generally believes that sexual stimulation is a good thing. That is, either sex with a partner (“dual cultivation”) or masterbation alone (“solo cultivation”) is a good thing for both your physical health and your spiritual development.
There are a few books by mantak chia on proper sexual practice and they will teach you the basics of what you need to know. The general idea is to stimulate the sexual organs to generate sexual energy, and then to circulate that energy throughout your body without (if you are male) ejeculating.
Proper practice of these techniques requires the practitioner to, among other things, become both acquainted and comfortable with his own sexuality.
April 14, 2005 at 4:22 pm #4227thanks for clearing that up ron
