I want to thank Tata, Ron’s half-sister, for agreeing to take her personal issues with Ron’s partner, Karin, to a more appropriate forum.
It is not easy to resolve issues with the deceased. Ron made it clear to his family that he entrusted Karin to be his caretaker and didn’t have the energy to deal with many of their demands. But Ron was not one to beat around the bush. He had given legal power of attorney to Karin to ensure his wishes regarding his health choices were enforced. This created some alienation between ron and his family, which is coming back now as anger against Karin and trumped up charges.
Ron made his own decisions about his health choices, and did not want his body polluted by a lot of drugs and surgical interventions that were admittedl by the doctors as going to fail anyway. I spoke to Ron about his choices and know it to be the case. Karin was merely supporting Ron’s wishes.
Ron was alone with Karin when he passed into unconsciousness, shortly before his biological death. karin called the rest of the family in immediately out of respect. They were present when he passed his final breath.
Let the dead rest in peace – and let the living focus on what is productive.
August 9, 2005 at 10:20 am #7133I am glad you have helped move this issue out of this forum; it is important that Tata talk, but here is not the appropriate place.
There are still three related threads that would be nice to have removed, and thereby reduce the chances of sparks flaring up.
“Let the dead rest in peace – and let the living focus on what is productive.” — nicely phrased Michael.

August 10, 2005 at 4:12 am #7139agree. Thanks for deleting my posts too they were hearfelt but ultimately innapropriate at the time and in the context of what was being discussed. Family issues such as these should remain within the family. May Ron rest in peace.
