Don’t let the debate of the year not happen because of you ego. let’s face it, you do waste time on here with alot of the useful stuff you have posted with nonsense. I don’t judge, but I can see how others may be offended.
In Buddhist terms..if you walked into any halfway decent Zen center in the United States and acted with such disrespect you would be kindly asked to leave..or maybe not so kindly at some places.
Come on and say..” I am sorry Michael for acting like a disrespectful antagonist and wish to commence a respectul, courteous discussion on the difference between Taoist Alchemy as you teach it and how Master Nan says it”.
Would Bodri appreciate it if you posted stuff like that on his site? Of course not! Maybe he is wise in not even having a discussion and staying out of these affairs.

March 13, 2005 at 10:57 pm #3371Plato has neither the knowledge, skills nor temperment to continue the debate. And I suspect he’s been getting nastier and nastier precisely for that reason.
Think about it, instead of debating the merits, he shifts the argument to personal attacks. This has the effect of (1) getting everyone’s focus away from his weak arguments and (2) getting people so pissed that eventually they either walk away or ban him.
He then gets to claim some sort of victory (“Winn is so scared to debate me he banned me from the site”. “Spyrelx is so blown away by me he won’t even respond”).
As I said earlier, the “debate of the year” happened already. Plato lost a long time ago.

March 13, 2005 at 11:36 pm #3375I just finished a critical thinking class a few weeks ago. In my opinion, the debate hasent even started and has been nothing but personal attacks.
At this point I almost feel like carrying on the debate myself with others..taking both sides as having merit and simply being OPEN to others.
That’s right..I said it..spiritual practice in my view has something to do with being open and receptive to others and not someone that is focused on being “right” or “wrong”
That doesnt mean there doesn’t exist a right or wrong but that is not the primary focus of anyone even mildly enlightened..in my opinion..which could be wrong.
I have a pretty good realationship, atleast I think, with both Winn and Bodri so just accept them both as part of my process..I’ll take to good from both and leave whatever isnt useful.
That’s all. No Taoist Drama queens please.
March 14, 2005 at 9:00 am #3377The debaters didn’t follow acceptable rules of conduct for the community.
As you and I have both said, you have to follow appropriate rules or you get kicked out of the community.
If Plato had acted like that towards any of the students in the dojo I trained in, Plato would have been so energetically fucked over by the Sifu, that if he were to even think about training there again he would probably puke.
Openness is important – but it is stupid to be open to someone if they keep kicking you in the face! The smart thing to do is to avoid them.
Most martial arts teachers tell you that the best thing to do is to avoid a fight – even if you are the physical victor, you still bear karmic scars for beating on someone.
From that perspective, I am going to avoid Max, Plato and HKF (RJ) by just not clicking on any of their posts.
Sorry I had to jump out of chat yesterday – my son needed me.

March 14, 2005 at 9:51 am #3379Michael demands an apology because he knows I won’t apologize. Thus, he can avoid the debate. This is called strategy.
If you knew strategy, you’d be a more successful lawyer instead of a common hack.
The education of Spyrelx continues…
March 14, 2005 at 11:40 am #3381No, actually, I’m rubber and you’re glue, and everything you say bounces off me and sticks to you.
Jeeze Plato, do you read the stuff you post? Go back and read all your vile and infantile insults. Is this what you want to me known for? Is this what you want to be?
I’ll ask you what I asked Max below — where is your virtue? Where is your compassion? Where is your gentleness?
In short, you were wrong.
You insulted people you haven’t even met or barely know, all of whom treated you with respect.
You were wrong.
Apologize and move on.

Are you talking into a mirror?
FYI, never date a girl or do business with anyone who uses “i” instead of “I” in an e-mail or generally throws grammer and punctuation to the wind.
Just a little friendly tip.
March 14, 2005 at 7:05 pm #3385..yu realley jump hard on a tipo.

😀March 14, 2005 at 7:58 pm #3387You too could watch your spelling, “grammer”…
Really, Plato, why don’t you just get a life, an ounce of humility to realize how tangled you are in your own web of nonsense and, again, you could use some serious therapy.
Kindly stop taking our space for, uh, what on earth are you taking it for anyway?March 14, 2005 at 8:00 pm #3389I’m with you. I refuse to answer to any more nonsense from Plato and the likes of him.
