    Michael Winn

Bonnie Diana, the (amicably separated) wife of Ron, asked me to post this.

Hello Mike and Daoist Discussion – hmmm. Well this is Bonnie Diana.

I understand there has been some sparks flying here and there on this discussion page about Ron Diana’s personal life. Tata is Caryl Diana, Ron Diana’s sister. It is a term of endearment carried over from the baby sitting days of Ron’s daughter, Kate, who called her Aunt Caryl, “TaTa.” I am proud to be Caryl’s sister in law and proud to know and very much love her.

Caryl, Ron’s sister, is filled with deep emotion and complex feelings regarding the passing of her older and much beloved brother, Ron. And yes, you are correct, this is not the format for those expressions and she and all of us know that.

But The Healing Tao and The Tao and The Healing Tao Arts and you can go way back to the early 1980’s and all this was very much a deep and important aspect of Ron’s life, passion, and committment to Taoist principles. Although it was also at times a source of nagging aggravation also. So be it. He thrived on that part also.

If you said “black” Ron would love to think of how “white” could be more right. He loved to spar. Ron loved controversary. And Ron loved agitated discourse on what the truth is for every person. Naturally those are answers that go on infinitum and present constantly to be examined with questions that open eyes and open mind and most vitally, open heart.

The simple truth for us, his family, who knew and loved him and miss him so, is this. We love him and miss him. Deeply.

There has been some injustice also. This is not, as you say, the forum for that and I agree. But so be it for you or I or anyone to lay claim or to judge that.

I am nothing. Nothing. And so in there is my freedom to see that what I feel or say or believe means nothing. I will not expose my own truths here but I will say thank to you all who can teach us forgiveness and I say thank you to those students who took the time to post loving thoughts about what Ron did best and that was to teach the Taoist way of healing. He was a master communicator. What I loved so was also that his secret medicine was his sense of humor and love of laughing.

    We miss him so.
We harbor no revenge. We are privy to untruths and personal invasions but in the end it will always work out the Way it is to work out.

    Bonnie Diana,
    friend of Ron Diana.
