What is you opinion on the primordial chi kung form? I bought the tape a few years back and have practiced the form in periods. I’ve been doing it a lot lately and I find it quite wonderful. What are your experiences and opinions?
Michael makes some quite far-reaching claims for this form and I was wondering if any of you have had any unusual experiences with it. I’m not sure what to think, but who knows? I’ve had a perception that someone was standing behind me practicing with me on a few occations though…vidiami
November 21, 2004 at 9:33 am #2051I am digging it. Been doing it for about 2 months. Have you tried just doing it in your imagination? Same effect, same power. I agree with Winn that the power of it is in the lineage rather than just the motions. I am hoping that the long term effect will be as Winn says of integrating the different energies/directions/intentions of life into one harmonious flow like that of a Celtic cross as that would benefit me greatly.
I am also curious as to the claim that primordial will endow healing abilities upon the practitioner. I sometimes feel my third eye throb very strongly when I scoop the energy down through my head.
Right now, I’m doing primordial and then chasing it with White Skeleton Meditation I got on meditationexpert.com–basically a bone visualization practice very similar to bone breathing as my primary practice.

I have experienced this feeling like someone or something is behind you. I have found it to be one of the greatest opportunities for integration.
Here is what I have done:
What I do is to let it come, asking what is this feeling (of perhaps fear or wierdness) and letting it come and crossing the fear threshold by realizing it has no power over me, I find that it takes me deeper (sometimes very deep into Primordial Heaven teaming with bliss).
I have had this happen during Primordial and also another time when I was alone fishing in nature – I sensed something watching me, I let it come -I ended up connecting deeply with the essence of the trees (one in particular) and everything. Very beautiful. None the least, sometimes it feels a bit freaky and I still wasn’t sure what happened afterwords, I was just in a different state of consciousness. The mind wants to figure all this stuff out and starts to try and classify these experiences, which it will try so hard to label either good or bad. But it just is 🙂
So what I am saying is invite it in, keep your attention on what you are feeling and forget about what you are thinking. After integrating this aspect of yourself, affirm with conviction “I AM” (what you are essentially saying is that you are the Spirit). Then just let what ever happens come. Try to not “think” just be and realize the essence of consciousness!

November 21, 2004 at 10:03 pm #2055it’s a truly remarkable practice that puts you directly in touch with the immortals that often appear in droves, not just during the practice but at other times in life. i’ve been doing it for about two or three years, why i can’t remember exactly is beyond me (!).
the efects if has are amazing. it makes my other practices much more powerful and far deeper. likewise, as i go thru the formulas, my primordial qigong evolves. i remember when it shifted into a great cosmic copulatin between a yellow earth goddess and blue heaven god, and i was the medium of copulation, if that makes any sense at all. i recently started the greater kana nd li tapes which include the primordial and i’m looking forward (very undaoist of me!) to seeing what happens with the practice.
i think another thing that lends power to it is that it has nbow left china and is being done by westerners. it brings a whole new dimension to the lineage and infuses it with new energy.
November 22, 2004 at 5:58 pm #2057I’m glad it has good long term effects. Do you do it once a day or more?

November 22, 2004 at 10:59 pm #2059Winn says that primordial unifies all the fragmented energies and concerns of life into one unified flow like the loops in a celtic cross and thereby gain momentum. I’ve only been doing it for a short while, do you have any sense of this unifying effect after a couple of years?

November 23, 2004 at 8:20 am #2061Thanks guys…
So, we seem to be at least 4 guys on this board doing this form. It would be nice to hear how this practice unfolds over time for you. I’m in an intense “primordial period” right now (doing the form twice or thrice a day) and I hope I can keep it up too see what happens over time.In the video Michael says the form is good for various heart conditions. My idea is that it’s probably good for opening the left and right core channels – scoping all that chi from heaven down on one side, down through one leg and down into the earth.
// Peace.

November 23, 2004 at 1:29 pm #2065most definitely. i havent done it everyday for a while since i’m learning new things i wanna focus on right now. but i do it often enough to check in and keep current.
November 23, 2004 at 1:31 pm #2067i cross the channels thru the solar plexus or lower dan tien. go from right vcore channel across to left leg and go from left core channel across to right leg.
November 23, 2004 at 1:35 pm #2069When you did it, did you do it once a day? Thanks for the thoughts–that’s what I wanted to hear!

November 23, 2004 at 4:10 pm #2071hahahhahaha!!! sometimes two or three or four times a day.
November 24, 2004 at 8:17 am #2073That’s a new one to me. Is it your own invention? I guess it’ll mix left and right even more.
By the way I emailed Michael asking if he considered making a second “advanced” video for primordial and if he still was writing the book. No – video, yes – book. The book would be mostly about the historical background of the form.
