A few times I’ve asked for advice in here. Typically because my kundalini syndrome was wildly out of control. I can now with great satisfaction say that this is gone for good.
Some of the problems I had was that I lost sensation in parts of my body – like a defensive layer had been peeled off. And I got irritating surges of anxiety. It was almost like a strange bodily anxiety that was impossible to reduce by “being mindful” of it. It didn’t matter how grounded I got – orbit, triple heater all that stuff. Didn’t work at all. Sure I felt centered, but when I started using my voice I soon felt a protective layer peeled off, the anxiety came and I would lose sensation in parts of my body – chest especially. And I had wild insomnia.
Before I got kundalini syndrome – five years ago now – I suffered from social anxiety. It was cured by a psychologist several years ago though, so it always baffled me that it resurfaced after my kundalini was released.
But now it’s finally gone, and I’m back in my body again. I don’t get anxiety anymore or lose the sensation in my body – not even after heavy voice use. No irritating energy sensations either – just a relaxed body, more wisdom, more mental clarity and I could go on.
So what’s the secret?
Well, two points: First of all, and this one may be pretty obvious: Don’t overdose on meditation with kundalini syndrome. It varies from person to person what an overdose is. I realized that more than 15 mins caused my energy to spike later in the day, and it may be responsible for a lot of the insomnia I’ve had. Also, I may have moved forward too fast in the system, and think I may need to go back to basics. Take it very slowly from step one and be thorough this time.
Secondly – and very important for kundalini syndrome – I finally realized how deep my personal resistance could go. Maybe you’ve read somewhere that the key to beating kundalini syndrome is to accept it. And yeah sure, I did that years ago and stopped being afraid of it. But here’s the thing: There are layers to our resistance. Some of them are very obvious – like a strong fear of the energy sensations. Others can be a bit more subtle – feeling irritated or regretful about it. And then there are even more subtle layers of resistance that may linger on; worrying what may happen, worrying that you need to do this or that exercise to “feel whole” and so on.
Some people are happy-go-lucky and never have this problem. And probably their kundalini experience is fairly easy. Others – like myself – are very organized, structured and analytical people. I like control, and the ego’s need for control is not a good thing in this process.
Sometimes I was not being fully honest with myself about this. For instance I still insisted on doing certain exercises every evening in order to “ground” the energy. Yet gradually I realized that this too was a form of resistance – a way of “not accepting the energy”. I stopped doing the orbit every day and my energy symptoms improved a bit. I began to suspect that maybe all of these symptoms were caused by mental blockages.
Gradually I stopped doing any exercises to “ground” the energy. Some time ago I stopped doing the last one – the triple heater and whaddayouknow – this was the last barrier. After three days I stopped feeling “cut off” from my body, and boom the anxiety was gone. Even my mental attitude changed once I did this – no more over-thinking stuff, less worrying. Feels great to be this way.
It’s amazing how a subtle need for control can impact one’s energy system. But I guess with kundalini it can really affect everything. And it can manifest in ways that don’t even seem like energy side effects. It must be because kundalini is tied to the mind – so any kind of ego resistance or need for control can screw it up. Even something as tiny and subtle as needing to do the triple heater every evening. Motherfucker..
One’s system probably reacts to kundalini resistance in a unique way, depending on one’s personality and experiences. I lost my voice probably because my old anxiety was tied to what I believed were the socials perception of me when I spoke. Others might feel depression or get various pains in the body and so on.
I wish I had known this five years ago. But I guess some things you need to experience before you truly realize them. Anyways, I am back in my body , with all the other great benefits alchemy has given me. I still feel some energy vibrations but it’s mostly in the legs and the feet, and nothing that really bothers me. And I still lose my voice when using it, and I know it’s energy related, but there’s no anxiety anymore. The only reak problem I have left now is some stuck energy in my abdomen from a muscle exercise last year that went wrong. But that’s another story and something I will soon work on. As for my voice anxiety and all that – it’s history.
That was what I wanted to share. I’m probably not the last person to spontaneously release kundalini. So if you speak to others with this condition, maybe this post can be of some help. Qigong and alchemy exercises can certainly help – and they have helped me. The orbit, standing in stillness and pan-gu especially. But at the end of the day, no exercise will do the trick if there’s still some mental resistance left. And that resistance – as my story goes – can be incredibly subtle.
Have a great day out there 🙂
March 16, 2016 at 6:15 pm #46258Very interesting. I’ve struggled with depression over a long period of time and only recently have I begun to get a sense of the compulsive quality of the struggle. I sensed that the larger pattern of stuckness is not the depression but in the perception of “me vs. depression” and the belief that I have to make it go away or it will kill me. This insight has left me feeling very much adrift at the moment. Anyway, seems similar to what you describe.
March 17, 2016 at 4:03 am #46260Congratulations on your breakthrough!
Just a few small comments:
In many ways, qigong/alchemy etc. is about breaking the mental resistance and rigidity that keeps us stuck in a certain pattern. Often it is not so much about “fixing” as it is about creating a supportive space where the unconscious habits that we do that generate the problem can be brought to a point where they are let go. When these are let go, the problem dissolves of its own accord. The pattern in your case, as you yourself identified, is your underlying need for control and things to go a certain way (and perhaps fear that they won’t).
>>>Also, I may have moved forward too fast in the system,
>>>and think I may need to go back to basics. Take it
>>>very slowly from step one and be thorough this time.I would encourage you to observe that this desire to be thorough, careful, and organized, could also become another control issue. 🙂 Just teasing you. But it is human nature. 😉 It also helps to have a sense of humor in the whole process . . .

The more you fight to get rid of something, the more it fights back.
This is why grounding is essential. It helps cultivate a space of neutrality, and consequently helps move one toward a state where there is no longer self-identification to a particular problem (in this case, the emotional state of depression). The emotion can be held–without needing to get rid of it–in a loving state of compassion, as an outside observer. Then you are no longer fighting it, but embracing it. Then, and only then, will it dissolve on its own, when its dissolution is no longer desired or required by you. This also why I’m not a fan of using Fusion 1 for solving emotional problems, because by its nature, it creates an “us vs. them” scenario. Fusion 1 works well for symptom-relief, like an ibuprofen does for a headache, but I’m not entirely convinced that it does much for the underlying pattern (either mental or otherwise), as the goal of “getting rid of it” creates the seed for more of it.

March 17, 2016 at 4:29 pm #46264Yes, could be another control issue. But I moved through the system without listening to any of the audio CDs. Had a live teacher instead. But then when I go back now and listen to those CDs it turns out there’s an enormous amount of detail that I wasn’t taught, including some exercises that were missed completely (like testicle breathing). So am thinking that at minimum it would be good to start listening through those CDs.
March 17, 2016 at 4:31 pm #46266Never had depression but can relate to what you say. The ego can play enormous tricks on us. Something that might work is to write a diary so you see your thoughts in writing, or talk to a psychologist who can identify some of your unconscious thought patterns.
March 17, 2016 at 5:32 pm #46268Yes, I understand that. By all means, go back and review.
But I just caution you to leave the worry behind, the worry about needing to “do it right” and needing to do it a certain way. This is the bigger potential problem, and a shadow of what you’ve been overcoming.April 10, 2016 at 12:00 pm #46270note: this channeled piece from an “energetic synthesis” website is interesting in that it focuses on many traditional areas of Taoist alchemy – the relationship between heart and kidneys, the thymus as “small heart” that opens to immortal consciousness. The twist here is that “negative aliens” are trying to stop humans from activating their soul spark (also identified as their christ consciousness) by distracting or disempowering them with various mind control technologies.

Diksa is given in a one-to-one ceremony, and typically includes the taking on of a serious spiritual discipline. The word is derived from the Sanskrit root dā (“to give”) plus kṣi (“to destroy”) or alternately from the verb root dīkṣ (“to consecrate”). When the mind of the guru and the disciple become one, then we say that the disciple has been initiated by the guru.
-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DikshaIn addition to nakshatras classical Jyotisha recognizes rashis (solar constellations) and bhavas (astrological houses), and considers carefully the positions of nine grahas. This group of Nine Grabbers (the word graha literally translates as grasper or seizer) consists of the five visible planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn), the two luminaries (Sun and Moon), and Rahu and Ketu, the so-called north and south nodes of the moon (the points where the orbit of the earth around the sun intersects the orbit of the moon around the earth). Each graha is a devata (deity) who when activated grips us in its clutches and induces us to display some of its characteristics.

These are the most important secondary causes through which the Gyalpo can provoke or disturb and for the person under their influence, confusion rises even more. So this is the provocation of Gyalpo in general.

I must admit that I think Indian traditions (Hindu/Jain/Buddhist) are much more advanced meditationally than Chinese ones, but with this alchemical tradition it’s more difficult to say; there interaction might have been very important for the INDIANS.
Instead of spending too much time in the beginning with meditation, it’s important to prepare body to be able to to process energy in different ways; also one must learn to direct energy when there would seem to be too much of it.
If any meditational practice makes oneself too sensitive one simply should become at the same as tough as possible at every level.
But of course this is complicated matter.

April 12, 2016 at 11:03 am #46272A tic is a sudden, repetitive, nonrhythmic motor movement or vocalization involving discrete muscle groups. Tics can be invisible to the observer, such as abdominal tensing or toe crunching. Common motor and phonic tics are, respectively, eye blinking and throat clearing.
-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TicResearch indicates that symptoms in childhood strongly predict disease in adulthood. In one long-term study, over 40% of people with schizophrenia who developed the disease in young adulthood had reported psychotic symptoms by age 11. For children with a family history of schizophrenia, the following inherited traits may be warning signs:
Deficits in working (short-term) and verbal memory
Impairments in gross motor skills (the child’s ability to control different parts of the body)
Attention deficits
A decline in verbal memory, IQ, and other mental functions
Any signs of hallucinations or delusions must be differentiated from normal childhood fantasies.

She’s threatened to climb into an oven. She’s kicked and tried to bite her little brother. “I’m Jani, and I have a cat named Emily 54,” she says, by way of introduction. “And I’m Saturn-the-Rat’s baby sitter.”
She locks her fingers in front of her chest and flexes her wrists furiously, a tic that surfaces when she’s anxious.
She announces that she wants to be a veterinarian.
“I’m empathetic with rats,” she says.
Asked what “empathetic” means, she smiles confidently. “It means you like rats.”
The doctors have been trying a new antipsychotic medication, called Moban. Jani knows she is sick and that people want to help her.
“Is the Moban working?” her mother asks Jani during a visit.
“No. I have more friends.”
Susan Schofield looks crestfallen.
She and her husband, Michael Schofield, have brought French fries. Jani takes a bite, runs around the room and circles back for another bite.
“You want the rats and cats to go away, don’t you?” Susan asks, trying to make eye contact with her daughter.
Jani stuffs a French fry into her mouth.
“No,” she says. “They’re cool. Rats are cool.”
-http://articles.latimes.com/2012/oct/03/health/la-he-schizophrenia29-2009jun29A child’s imagination has no bounds. Some boys and girls pretend to be astronauts and mermaids. Others run alongside imaginary friends. But, for a few children around the world, the mind conjures hallucinations that never go away. At times, these make-believe visions even lead to violent behavior.
Michael and Susan Schofield know all too well how mental illness can affect a child’s life. Their 7-year-old daughter, Jani, has been diagnosed with one of the most severe cases of childhood schizophrenia Jani’s doctors say they’ve ever seen.
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, schizophrenia is a chronic, disabling brain disorder that may cause a person to hear voices and misinterpret reality. In some cases, schizophrenic patients believe people are plotting to harm them, which causes extreme agitation or depression.
Jani may be younger than most people with schizophrenia, but she battles the same demons. In her case, hallucinations take the form of imaginary children and animals. There’s a little girl named 24 Hours, a rat named Wednesday, and a cat named 400 who tells her to do bad things.
-http://www.oprah.com/health/The-7-Year-Old-SchizophrenicIn the hatha yoga tradition, mudras are considered precious tool on the path of awakening. There are five classes taught in the yoga tradition: hasta (“hand”) mana (“head”) kaya (“postural”) bandha (“lock”) and adhara (“base” or “perineal”)…according to the doctrine YOGA TATTVA MUDRA VIJNANA, all diseases in the body and the disturbances of mind result from the imbalance of Five Elements and disruption of the natural flow of prana. Through centuries of use and refinement, the techniques of the five classes of mudras have been shown to be a highly effective system of self-healing and spiritual cultivation.
-CAIN & REVITAL CARROLL, Mudras of India: A Comprehensive Guide to the Hand Gestures of Yoga and Indian DanceWhen mudras are practiced with pranayama or breathing exercises, they help rejuvenate energetic prana flow within the superficial body through stimulation of certain areas of the body that are involved with breathing. In addition, the mudras help create a subtle connection within the instinctual areas of the brain that influences the unconscious autonomic nervous system of the superficial body. Because of this holistic rejuvenation and subtle connection within the body, energetic prana flow becomes balanced and redirected. Such subtleties affect the minute and infinitesimal areas of the superficial body like tendons, ligaments, veins, arterioles, bronchi within the lungs, glands, and sensory organs.

My personal opinion is that one can and should do certain practices.
For example mudras and pranayamas are potentially good remedy in the case of kundalini syndrome, if for several years one couldn’t seriously do any energy yoga practice.

If one learns to deal with this, one should see it as an option and not a burden.
One doesn’t need to get exhausted because one cannot anymore sleep like before, if one knows how to do the right things.

May 19, 2016 at 7:07 pm #46276A syndrome is a set of medical signs and symptoms that are correlated with each other and, often, with a specific disease. The word derives from the Greek σύνδρομον, meaning “concurrence”. In some instances a syndrome is so closely correlated with a pathogenesis or etiology that the words syndrome, disease, and disorder end up being used interchangeably for them. This is especially true of genetically caused syndromes. For example, Down syndrome, WolfHirschhorn syndrome, and Andersen syndrome are disorders with known pathogeneses, so each is more than just a set of signs and symptoms, despite the syndrome nomenclature. In other instances, a syndrome is not specific to only one disease. For example, toxic shock syndrome can be caused by various toxins; premotor syndrome can be caused by various brain lesions; and premenstrual syndrome is not a disease but simply a set of symptoms.
-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SyndromeSamudra manthan (Sanskrit: समुद्रमन्थन, lit. churning of the ocean) is one of the best known episodes in Hindu mythology. The story appears in the Bhagavata Purana, the Mahabharata and the Vishnu Purana, and explains the origin of amrita, the drink of immortality….Indra, the King of Devas (gods), while riding on the elephant Airavata, came across Sage Durvasa who offered him a special garland given to him by the God Shiva. Indra accepted the garland and placed it on the trunk of the elephant as a test to prove that he was not an egoistic god. The elephant, knowing that Indra had no control over his own ego, threw the garland to the ground. This enraged the sage as the garland was a dwelling of Sri (fortune) and was to be treated as a prasada or religious offering. Durvasa cursed Indra and all devas to be bereft of all strength, energy, and fortune.
In battles following the incident, the Devas were defeated and Asuras (demons) led by King Bali, gained control of the universe. Devas sought help from the Supreme God Vishnu who advised them to treat asuras in a diplomatic manner. Devas formed an alliance with asuras to jointly churn the ocean for the nectar of immortality and to share it among them. However, Vishnu told the Devas that he would arrange that they alone obtain the nectar.
The churning of the Ocean of Milk was an elaborate process. Mount Mandara or Mandar Parvat was used as the churning rod, and Vasuki, the king of serpents, who abides on Shiva’s neck, became the churning rope. The demons demanded to hold the head of the snake, while the gods, taking advice from Vishnu, agreed to hold its tail. As a result the demons were poisoned by fumes emitted by Vasuki. Despite this, the gods and demons pulled back and forth on the snake’s body alternately, causing the mountain to rotate, which in turn churned the ocean. When the mountain was placed on the ocean, it began to sink. Vishnu, in the form of a turtle Kurma, came to their rescue and supported the mountain on his back.
The Samudra Manthan process released a number of things from the Ocean of Milk. One was the lethal poison known as Halahala, which in some versions of the story, escaped from the mouth of the serpent king as the demons and gods churned. This terrified the gods and demons because the poison was so powerful that it could destroy all of creation. Then the gods approached Shiva for protection. Shiva consumed the poison in an act to protect the universe, and his wife Parvati grabbed Shiva’s throat in an effort to prevent him from swallowing the poison, which was the most deadly poison in existence, harmful even to a god. As a result, Shiva’s throat turned blue. For this reason, Lord Shiva is also called Neelakantha (the blue-throated one; “neela” = “blue”, “kantha” = “throat” in Sanskrit).

As far as I have understood these symptoms had started with Taoist practices so maybe one shouldn’t call it Kundalini syndrome but Dao syndrome.
Anyway if it has anything to do with Kundalini this Hindu myth is worth studying.
It has multiple meanings.
For example this so called ‘churning of the ocean’ refers both to starry sky and to certain seemingly for many unpleasant experiences with one’s energy body.

If one’s symptoms have been like this, but one hasn’t become too destructive towards oneself or somebody else, one should be thankful because one at least somehow survived the test.

May 19, 2016 at 10:09 pm #46278In April 1959, Lanza reportedly suffered a minor heart attack followed in August by double pneumonia. On September 25, 1959, he entered Rome’s Valle Giulia clinic for the purpose of losing weight for an upcoming film. While in the clinic, he underwent a controversial weight loss program colloquially known as “the twilight sleep treatment”, which required its patients to be kept immobile and sedated for prolonged periods. On October 7, a day before his scheduled discharge, he died at the age of 38. No autopsy was performed. He left a shattered wife and four children. His wife returned to Hollywood completely devastated. She died five months later of a drug overdose. He was buried at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California. Maria Caniglia, Franco Fabrizi and Enzo Fiermonte attended the funeral. Frank Sinatra sent his condolences by telegram.
