Who wants to train dream yoga refreshed. It takes some tiredness to make it natural.
Same goes for tao yin. It is nourishing, but its place comes as counterpart of ‘tao yang’.
If tao yang cultivates polarities and pushes, tao yin works within those polarities and yields.
Hence first tao yang practice, then tao yin to finish.

Example 1: work through polarities of postures in tai chi (=ultimate polarities) for the time the body wants it to, then nourish body with tao yin for the time body wants it.
Tao yin only is sluggishness, tai chi only is hurting.
Tai chi was hard core practise always: see only the names of families that practised it: chen developing thunder power (short explosive burst and longer yin gatherings); yags developing pure yang with focusing so much on stoping/slowing down and trainning the starting of move.

Example 2; polarities are relative. Hence first some sticky hands (continous repeatition of very short sequence of moves; yang-ish), then some tai chi form (like yang cheng fu, not emphasies on outburst, simple gentle yin-xang flow; yin-ish)
