I was just wondering if anyone can give a brief explanation of 9 palace practice, or if you could reccomend a book I would greatly appreciate it. I am going to be learning a Ba Gua version of the 9 palaces and would like to get a leg up by trying to understand the general concepts and philosophy behind the practice.
Thank you,
Love and Tao
ShenchiFebruary 16, 2009 at 4:17 pm #30562Hey Senchi,
I had heard of the 9 Palaces qigong system before but hadn’t researched it in depth until these past few days after reading your post. Looks pretty interesting. Search google for ‘9 Palaces qiqong’ and the first site that comes up is that of Dr. Baolin Wu. Also search for his name on amazon and two books will come up, one on qigong and one on Feng Shui. Lots of interesting info on his site and as far as amazon would allow in the book preview. There was some talk of his book on the taobums forum, but i didn’t find any highly detailed descriptions. Thanks for making your post (and your other posts and training log) to inspire my own search into the system. Do you have any info on the version you’re going to start practicing?
=)
RyanFebruary 16, 2009 at 7:40 pm #30564Hey thanx Ryan. I actually have a copy of that book. It’s very interesting and very informative. I had picked that up a few months ago before I knew that I would be studying the 9 palace system. I went back to it last week when I knew that would probably be the next thing I started. If anyone knows of any other books or sites please feel free to add to the conversation. As far as the system that I will be studying I have no clue what it intales except that I heard the foot work is complex, but that’s all Ba Gua.I have been told that it is the first time that this lineages version of the 9 palace system has been taught in the USA. Anyway thanx again Ryan. I think I might get that Feng Shui book since I have interst in anything that deepens my understanding of the I-Ching and thus Ba Gua Zhang. Till next time,
