Hi everybody!
Hope everyone is doing well.
I have a few questions about the “pearl” if I could get some help I would really appreciate it.
First, what exactly is the pearl? Is this the golden embryo that is discussed in Taosit Literature? Is this refined jing, or perhaps shen crystallised into this realm?
Second, how exactly is the pearl developed? Is it simply form cultivating the lower dan tien that this forms after a while? If so what methods are used?Is it from circulating the orbit?
Third, What do you do once you have it?I know there is some controversey as to whether you shoot it out of the corwn or not, but if you don’t shoot it out what do you do with it?Move it in the orbit maybe?
Thanks alot for your time everyone, and Michael I hope you’ll find the time to answer this.

draw together with your mind.
Remeber the mind leads and the chi follows.Chi is stored throughout the body. By placing your mind in the lower dan tien you can draw chi from your body into a sphere.
Just by spiralling the chi there you can create a pearl quickly. You can circulate it. Shoot it any were you like.
I think what most people have a problem with is what kind of force you
shoot it with! You can create mutiple pearls if you like.
Shoot one into the Earth.
The other one into the North Star.Funny, I feel like an old Daoist answering these questions.
hahah
I dont mean that in any way.Its just that the pearl is really just poetry on the way back to the
Dao.To look back at all the methods that got you there is quite a trip.
Like a flashback…Hope this Helps!
April 27, 2005 at 6:11 pm #5126Sean, I had trouble with the concept at first. I couldn’t get my mind behind it nor did I feel anything but my imagination. I began to think about the real pearl though and how it is composed. Unlike many other gems it is formed inside the oyster in a slow evolving manner, layer upon layer. That outer reality helped me a lot on the inner planes.
By constantly returning to the healing sounds and giving substance to the shen/organs with color, emotion, sound and movement a certain focus occurs that coagulates into a pearl. I suppose it could be another image that makes more inner sense, but just as in the oyster, this point of focus grows every time I return with awareness. Remember also that there are many pearls, each shen develops one, and they interact and have a life of their own.
The device of the pearl allows me to condense the multidimensionality of the shen into a usable symbol of substance which is most helpful in the latter practices of fusion and then onto kan and li.
It also helps me to remember that this practice is essentially one of alchemy which refines and purifies until “gold” is produced. The pearl then is a form of gold, as it is the result of inner sight and practice.I guess you could call the golden embryo a similar device to the pearl in that it is also the result of alchemy.
However I wouldn’t get hung up on what it is or even feeling it. It found me after I let go of trying. Your focus in the practices will cultivate a space for it to be and voilà, you have a name for the experience and a tool to use for even deeper practices. baba
