Thera are three positions of tongue on palate,
more towards the tongue for microcosmic orbit,
more towards the back for central channel. There is also perineum press. It is a means to connect water and sexual energy to connect to other placec. Otherwise is common it is regularely expelled.
There is cross-sitting which utilizes heel press to perineum. However it is hurtive to knees, and press is more to the front.
Knee problem is removed with removing the heel press, sitting on 20cm high pad and both legs resting in very comfortable position on the floor, no halflotus or anything.
If padding is standard chair then feet are on ground and root is better.Heel press is replaced with glass crystal.
Position on perineum point is for opening central channel.
Positions more to the back are for opening back central and governor channel.
Positions more to the front are for opening front central and functional channel.

Other tongue positions:
tongue touches lower jaw gums. To ground chi, for stabilizing flighty psyche.
(often used in buddhist versions of orbit as well).tongue suspended in mid-mouth, without touching. For use in weight loss.
Causes heart fire to disperse internally.michael

Never heard that before.
Tried it and got change right away,
That’s a gem!
Thanks!June 8, 2005 at 11:24 pm #5931i like to roll the tongue for the orbit. start in back as you inhale up the spine, move to center, and then to fron as you exhale down front channel. reverse for reverse orbit. you don’t have to connect it to the breath once the orbit is moving. if orbit is open and free flowing, tongue can be almost anywhere. if you don’t think about it, tongue will find its own position. just let it happen. i like this method best. every time i took one of michael’s classes and he started to describe tongue position, i found it was already there.
June 13, 2005 at 7:38 am #5933I have noticed also:
tongue touching outside lower jaw gums.
(Thus balloning the lower lip)It is used in sword techniques. Aikido and ninjutsu.
Intent to projecting, yang; my guess.
Do not know the instruction whether the tongue is touching upper teeth and whether is touching upper palace. -
