    Hi everyone
I find myself puzzeling which kind of excersises are best to use during my practice.
It seems to me that Wai Dan is a lot more easier to do than Nei Dan which seems to take much more consentration. does that mean that wai dan is more efficient for me. or its simply low level chikung not at powerfull as the Nei Dan Chi Kung… does any one feels that the two should be combined and if so in what way
    thanx
    Peace and harmony

    Its a good question.

Waidan circulates post natal chi. so it generally is easier, like going with the flow, smoothing out what has aleady manifested.

neidan is playing with boundary between post-natal and pre-natal, so it requires more concentration, deeper inner awareness. Our tendency in the west is heavily weighted towards the outer/post-natal, so this requires a reversal of ordinary mind tendencies.

Its not about one being better than the other. Just ask internally, “what style do I need to practice right now?”.

Its about finding a process that works for you.

    hope this helps.

btw, i love the very notion of Jade Bamboo.

    love, chi, blessings,

    Thanx for your reply Michael
I intend to follow you’re advice.

by the way do you consider Alexander Technique and Pilates to be a western form of WaiDan chi kung?

In both cases your’e using the mind to move the body. in Pilates you move the body from the center. and in Alexander from what i understand you learn to release tension and move the body effortlessly?

    thanx

peace with lots of cookies and milk

I thnk Alexander is a form of waidangong. But it would be much more powerful if they added in awareness of chi flow. The movement up and forward is essentially activating flow in the orbit.
But they don’t have a vessel for capturing the chi – the function of orbit and neidan.

I don’t know much about Pilates.

I’ll take dark chocolate chips in my cookies, thanks.
