Hello all,
since this is my first visit here I would like to ask you to be patient and if my question is already answered please forgive me for asking it again.
So, in one of Mantak Chia’s book that I have been using for many years now (Male Sexual Cultivation I think), Mantak Chia sais that we start doing the Power Lock when we are close to a level of 98%, or 99% percent before ejaculation. On the Big Draw though, he mentions that when we have the slightest feeling that we are about to ejaculate we start performing the Big Draw.
Now, my question is: when is the moment that Mantak Chia describes. Nowadays I do not go beyond the contractile phase. But today as I was lying on my bed and thinking about it, in the past when I was ‘single cultivating’ I would go as far as the point of no return to each really early stages when I could feel the needle like pain of inevitability of ejaculation. If I even waited a few seconds, I wouldn’t be able to stop ejaculation.
I also would have high heart rate building up, like the heart rate I experienced when I was regularly ejaculating in the past, which now I try to avoid. I try to keep my self calm these days during single cultivation.
And to continue with my question: When you perform (or performed in the past) single cultivation do you jump over the point of no return and do the Big Draw or before? If you do, do you have the same experience as me, you know the coming of the sort of needle like pain and high heart beat? Do avoid going that close to ejaculation when you are single cultivating or you just approach ejaculation and do the Big Draw.
Thank you for your time everyone,
I’m eagerly waiting for your answers….:)July 31, 2012 at 11:38 pm #39597When I used to do the Healing Love practices, I would
begin by doing the Cool Draw (testicle breathing), then
continue doing this without stop as I would heat up.
The Big Draw would not really be any unique moment,
other than the point in the Cool Draw process when
I reached orgasm. The Big Draw would just be one
of the Cool Draws (now quite hot), and during the most
intense time. I would have an orgasm without ejaculation,
and then the orgasmic feeling would decrease/subside.The Power Lock is the physical manipulation technique
of pressing into your perineum at the moment of
ejaculatory inevitability to stop the ejaculation,
but it is mainly a practice that is done only in the
case when you screw up and have not done a good enough
job with the Cool Draw & Big Draw. Thus it is a last
ditch effort to stop ejaculation when you didn’t
successfully do it through other means.Many of the Healing Love techniques are controversial;
some of them are more controversial than others. In particular, Michael Winn no longer teaches
the Power Lock technique in his Healing Love course.
Energetic stagnation in the perineal area and
possible damage to the tubes & nerves is a risk factor
that has led to his disavowal of the practice.I personally do not do any Healing Love techniques
anymore (for my own reasons), so you’ll have to get
responses from others on this list as to what their
current practice looks like. The best I can say is
that when I used to do the practice, I did what I
described in the first paragraph . . . and in particular,
is probably what I would recommend others do if they
expressed interest in actively doing Healing Love practices.S
August 1, 2012 at 3:22 am #39599May I assume Steven that you started ejaculating again, hehe. Sorry I didn’t want to cross the line that to drew when you stated above that you ‘don’t do the Healing Love techniques for personal reasons’…:)
Anyways, thank you for the clarification and yes I agree with you that the book has many controversional infos and from my own experience I had to realise that through my practice.
For the record did you stimulate your penis when you where doing the Cool Draw to heat up the Jing or did it occur on it’s own? And I assume that when you say orgasm you mean an energetic full body orgasm not genital/slash ejaculatory orgasm?
Thnx again, your input was very insightful…:)
August 1, 2012 at 3:25 am #39601Sorry, just read it again, and yes you had an energetic orgasm not an ejaculatory one, it is morning here and I just got up to run some errants and at the meantime I took a peak to the forum. So, sorry for rushing ahaid…:)
August 1, 2012 at 5:35 am #39603Yeah i agree the books are a little confusing over these points. I had practiced it for quiet a few years on and off and i guess over time it just gets easier. I never really did the power lock exercise with the finger on the perinium part i thought that was a bit arkward and a bit forceful on your body.
The way i practiced and still do is just before you’re about to ejaculate you can suck the energy up into your MCO as early as you like. It’s kinda like the more your partner stimulates you the more energy that is in and around your genitals you need to get it out of there and into your body so that you don’t ejaculate. If you haven’t practiced alot of MCO in recent times then sometimes it’s too much energy to suck through into your body, the channel isn’t wide enough and you have to stop stimulating to not ejaculate. If you don’t let it build up too much energy obviously it’s easier. But when you build up heaps of energy then pull it into your body you get a bigger rush throught your body so yeah…. You gotta get your PC muscle working too that is the key to the whole thing i think. That way you can hold the sperm in even if you need to tense your whole body, then once you have held it in passed the period of time when you want to ejaculate you can suck the energy into your body for a few seconds. If you start stimulating again straight away you’ll have to use your pc muscle again. Once you get good at it and your MCO is very wide (most important part in my opinion) you can pretty much have a full blown orgasm as you normally would if you weren’t doing healing love then halfway through the orgasm, before you ejaculated suck it in to your body through your sperm palace point and i normally just bring it up my back to the top of my head or just to my lowest dantien and bring all the energy up in about 2 big sucks (it’s pretty intense so i normally use my breath to help me). It boosts your MCO heaps and can make sex more fun so thats why i do it. I ejaculate too at least once every 2-4 weeks just incase it’s not good to hold it in too long. But when i ejaculate i definately feel more spacy and less grounded the next couple of days. If i am doing very intense practice i don’t have the grounding necessary to bring in heaps of energy. It’s like part of me is missing.
How well you go will depend on your microcosmic orbit (MCO). And remember it can be pretty high powered stuff, i think all the sexual energy work is pretty full on. And it builds up so if you do it day after day you will feel the energy in your body getting stronger and stronger. Just one time and i can feel it for up to 2 days afterwards. And if i dont’ practice for a week or two and drink lots of alcohol when i go on holidays or something then start doing lots of MCO i can feel the meridians reopening. If i use sexual energy too early on i can get headaches and other problems from too much energy trying to squeeze through too smaller meridians. If you don’t have much experience you won’t know what to do. Also, even if you don’t ejaculate it still drains your kidneys i can easily feel it. Take care ๐
Oh another tip too. Practice surfing the peak before you orgasm. Don’t let it come on too quick let it come on slowly and stimulate slowly and try to keep it at that place before the peak for as long as you can. Then you will feel comfortable at that point and the whole thing will become alot easier too.

August 1, 2012 at 6:24 am #39607Thnx Zoose. This is pretty much what I have been doing. I would go a little closer to ejaculation and then draw the energy up my spine and say ‘Woo… This is much better than ejaculating’. In my opinion though it is not a bad thing not to ejaculate, as long as you practice drawing your jing chi away from you genitals. So, I realize now that Power Lock (and this is not the three fingers Zoose, but the clenching thing you do with your buttocks, fists, jaw and PC muscle), only causes me pain in my prostate so I avoid going that far, beyond the point of no return. I just posted this question because I wanted to know how others are practicing Healing Love. So, the thread is still open guys for more input…;)
August 1, 2012 at 6:57 am #39609There is a problem with terminology
when you use the phrase “Power Lock”Power Lock can mean the forceful clenching of the body,
and especially the buttocks, to rapidly direct attention
away from the genital region in the case when the Big Draw
on its own is not enough, and you are going to lose it.Power Lock can also mean the same thing WITH pressing
on the “Million-Dollar Point” (Perineal point), this
last bit sometimes called the External Lock. This is a problem with terminology, and is not consistent
from book-to-book in Chia’s homestudy courses to be honest.
Different people having read different books will take
it to mean different things. It is important to be aware of this and be clear about
which version you are talking about. In either case, it is energetically better if you can
draw the energy away without using forceful body techniques.
The latter case with the direct physical pressure on
the perineum is to be avoided. In fact, the latter case Michael now directly teaches his
class not to do.August 1, 2012 at 7:03 am #39611>>>For the record did you stimulate your penis
>>>when you where doing the Cool Draw to heat up
>>>the Jing or did it occur on it’s own?Yes. Sorry for the confusion.
This was done either through sex or through masturbation.
In either case, I would start doing Cool Draw as soon
physical stimulation would begin (either with a partner
or solo), and just continue this continuously through
the Big Draw phase, through the full-body internal
orgasm, to the wind-down period.S
August 1, 2012 at 7:18 am #39613Thnx Steven, yes it is true that the terminology is confusing. I am curently working with a Healing Dao instructor, and by discussing certain things with different Healing Dao instructors I got different answers and things got little bit confusing. By the way what is the wind-down period?
August 1, 2012 at 7:27 am #39615This is probably why in Michael’s courses he
never uses any terminology at all. You don’t
typically hear him use the words “Cool Draw”,
“Big Draw”, “Power Lock”, etc.Instead, he just describes the techniques
without using any terminology . . . probably
because he knows the terminology is not
consistent through the written literature. When I said “wind-down period”, this isn’t any
particular terminology I’m referencing, just
what I would call the period after you have
peaked in orgasm, and the sexual rush becomes
less and less intense (regardless of ejaculation
or not).S
